BOLOGNA, Italy and HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa., March 31, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Menarini Silicon Biosystems, a pioneer of liquid biopsy and single cell technologies, announced today the launch of a new assay to meet the needs of pharma companies, CROs, clinicians and research scientists working on multiple myeloma (MM). This new CELLSEARCH® Circulating Multiple Myeloma Cells (CMMCs) Assay* captures and enumerates CMMCs from peripheral blood. It has the potential to reduce invasive, often painful, and costly bone marrow (BM) biopsies to monitor in real-time MM evolution and study disease biology. Its availability across Europe and the US will allow for increased data consistency during international multicenter MM trials.

MM is the second most common blood cancer. Throughout their clinical journey, patients are subject to repeat BM biopsies, to diagnose and monitor disease status. An unmet medical need in all MM stages is to have a non-invasive modality for diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression, providing the overall actionable information currently available from BM biopsies.

CMMCs are increased in the peripheral blood of patients with MM and in patients with two precursor diseases: monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS) and smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM)1. Moreover, a high degree of correlation between CELLSEARCH CMMC counts and disease burden in myeloma patients has been shown, raising the possibility of using CMMC counts as a metric for minimal residual disease or relapse in clinical trials1.

How Did Twitch Create a Near-Monopoly on Streaming Views?

So you want to watch someone livestream. It’s possible now, across many platforms, to watch someone live. It could be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez repotting her plants and discussing the latest ongoings in the political sphere on Instagram. It could be a little-known band playing acoustic versions of their songs on Facebook. It could be two lifestyle influencers having a discussion and answering questions on TikTok. These are major platforms, which have a huge amount of users using them for things outside live streaming – which was a feature each of these platforms incorporated after it appeared there was a demand. Twitch was the first livestreaming-specific platform which made itself known in wider popular culture. It continues, despite an increasingly competitive market forming around them, to have a near-monopoly on streaming views.

What is Twitch?

Twitch’s early model was gaming-focused. It was a place for those – professionals and amateurs – who wished to stream their gameplay live to an audience. Not only this, but production teams built around titles broadcasted competitive esports tournaments – the likes of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, for instance. YouTube was the place for recorded content. Twitch was the go-to place for gamers to consume content live (with highlights or even complete recordings of the stream being uploaded to YouTube to cater to that audience too). 

It’s Model

The platform catered to games of all kinds early on and still does now. Obviously, there’s an incentive for delivering content on major titles like Call of Duty: Warzone or League of Legends but there’s also big audiences for those playing at online casinos like Comeon here on Twitch or smaller, lesser-known indie games. It allows audiences to form around video games and around streamers/communities. 

In recent years, Twitch has consciously expanded and looked to diversify its content categories. It’s “IRL” and “Just Chatting” additions have been notable successes. These have been particularly popular with the East Asian market, attracting and developing audiences for streamers which are regularly in the multiple thousands. 

The platform has also seen growth come to it without them having to make changes or decisions themselves. A recent example would be chess. The ancient game which, often derided as a game for those of particular status, age, interests, etc., has attracted new interest after Chess.com started to sponsor and instigate streams surrounding their brand. Notably, they utilise Hikaru Nakamura – one of the best chess players in the world – as their centrepiece. He’d been streaming for a while, without much major attention, but after xQc, Rubius, Pokimane, Logic, and Rainn Wilson joined in one of Chess.com’s tournaments then things took off.

The Competition

Due to Twitch’s success, as alluded to above, other platforms have incorporated live streaming features. YouTube and Facebook Gaming are now its two closest competitors. YouTube signed major streamers like CouRage and Valkyrae to exclusive contracts as well as working out a deal with Activision to broadcast the Call of Duty League and the Overwatch League only on YouTube. Facebook Gaming has stars use their platform but they seem less interested in esports productions. The issue both these huge social media sites have is that they are understood to primarily do other things beside live streaming. Facebook is Facebook and YouTube is for pre-recorded content (of any and every sort). Twitch is a gaming platform. This is where it has its edge.

Friday Night Dinner Season 7 Might Return To Netflix Sooner Than You Think!

Actor Simon Bird, who stars as Adam, spoke to NME about the show’s future, hinting toward its potential end.

He said:

“We think this is probably the end of the show.”

Was season 6 the end or will it return with season 7?

Every series it feels more like ‘OK, we’re ready to say goodbye to these characters – we’re really proud of it but we’re ready and happy to move on.’ But who knows”, he continued.

After his comments gave fuel to the fire of rumours going around season 6 being the end of the cult-comedy series, creator Robert Popper stepped in and refuted the speculations. Popper, in an interview with “The Radio Times”, revealed that he has no plans of ending the series anytime soon.

So it seems like, the Goodman family is here to stay.

When will season 7 release?

‘Friday Night Dinner’ has normally dropped a new batch of six episodes every two years especially in summers.

If a seventh series is in the pipeline, then, we can expect the Goodmans to visit us in spring/summer 2022. However, given the current constraints around filming due to the coronavirus pandemic, the production of the next season could be delayed.

The potential cast for season 7

If the show wants to maintain its TV ratings and audience demographic, we can hope that the next season will feature all the beloved lead actors in their roles.

The main cast that is likely to make a comeback to including Tamsin Greig starring as mom Jacqueline “Jackie” Goodman, Paul Ritter who plays dad Martin Goodman, Simon Bird as an older son Adam Goodman and Tom Rosenthal who plays younger son Jonathan “Jonny” Goodman.

In addition, other favourite characters like Mark Heap who plays Jim Bell, Goodmans’ strange neighbour who regularly makes an appearance can also be expected to return in season 7. 

What might happen in the next season?

Robert Popper has revealed that he plans to write more stories around the Goodman family.

In an interaction with the media ahead of the release of season 6, Popper revealed what inspired him to continue with the series.

Popper said that he wanted to do a show about a family that brings back the memories of childhood again.

“I think it’s the intensity of the family which has quite a Jewish theme. When you write about a family people can relate to them straight away.”

Season 6 introduced viewers to a few characters without much background like the ‘horrible grandma’ who attended Martin’s birthday party.

Vietnam is expanding its power generation capacity as it balances its generation portfolio and meets the soaring energy demand of its growing population and flourishing economy.

 

To advance energy security with decarbonization and sustainability commitments, Vietnam is prioritizing the development of its renewable energy infrastructure.

 

Renewable energy, according to Black & Veatch’s Strategic Directions: Electric Industry Asia 2021 Report, is expected to experience the most significant investment growth in new generation capacity over the next three to five years.

 

The Ia Pech 1 and Ia Pech 2 wind farms, located in Ia Grai district of Gia Lai province, are examples of investments in Vietnam’s renewable energy developments.

 

Dien Xanh Gia Lai Investment Energy Joint Stock Company, the developer of the la Pech wind farms, has engaged Black & Veatch as the Owner’s Engineer for both wind farms. Each Ia Pech wind farm project will have a capacity of 50 megawatts (MW).

The Ia Pech wind farms will generate and sell power to Vietnam Electricity for 20 years. Construction of the farms is scheduled to begin in 2021 and commercial operation is estimated to start by fourth quarter of 2021.
