But there has been no production update on it till December 2020. Very recently, Marvel boss Kevin Feige officially confirmed the project by announcing that the director of MCU’s Spiderman movies, Jon Watts, will direct the new ‘Fantastic Four’.
The Fantastic Four’s entry in MCU will definitely happen on a different note from what the story was in Fox. Marvel will likely re-build the ‘Fantastic Four’ from fresh grounds. As the track record of previous attempts by Fox hasn’t been quite worthy. However, with Marvel officially confirming a ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, the rumors regarding the movie and the star cast have started floating out.
As per one of the Small Screen’s source, the ‘Stranger Things’ star Dacre Montgomery had been on Fiege’s radar since his mind-bending performance in the Netflix show, and ‘Fantastic Four’ could be his entry in the MCU.
Dacre Montgomery cast as Human Torch?
Dacre Montgomery played Billy Hargrove in Season 2 and Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’. The wildness of the character and the sensational performance by Dacre stole the show, and it seems like it also stole Fiege and Watts’ attention.
As per the source quoted above, the actor has been on Fiege’s radar for a long, especially after he starred as the lead in 2017’s Power Rangers remake. Now, as per the source, the ‘Stranger Things’ star, Dacre Montgomery, might actually get a ticket to MCU with the role of Human Torch in Fantastic Force.

As Marvel is looking to bring Wolverine in MCU, they’re in search of a worthy actor to replace Hugh Jackman. Though one can’t say if Hugh Jackman could ever be matched as Wolverine, Montgomery’s performance as the host of Mind Flayer in ‘Stranger Things’ surely had glimpses of what Marvel might need. However, it seems as that Watts feels the actor will be a better fit for the role of Human Torch.
