#Kolkata: Gerua Shibir is not announcing the names of candidates for 294 seats at a time like the ruling party. In this case, it is believed that they are following the policy of ‘let’s go a little slower’. Such an indication was found after the meeting of the BJP’s Central Election Committee on Saturday. According to sources, the names of the candidates for the third, fourth and fifth rounds of voting were discussed at the meeting. Which will be announced today (Sunday).

Padma Shibir has already announced the names of 60 candidates for the first two terms. The names of the candidates for the remaining 234 seats may be announced on Saturday. In the end, however, it did not. The meeting of the Central Election Committee lasted till midnight at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. The meeting was attended by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, BJP All India President JP Nadda, Shuvendu Adhikari, Mukul Roy and other BJP leaders. According to sources, there has been a discussion on the list of candidates for the third, fourth and fifth points (120 seats). The names of the other three candidates were not discussed in that way. It is learned that a decision will be taken later.

Even before the announcement on Sunday, some eye-catching names are being heard inside the BJP. There are, of course, several heavyweight leaders on that list of potential candidates. Rajiv Banerjee is probably going to contest from his old seat Domjur. Prabir Ghoshal can fight from Uttarpara. Rathin Chakraborty is a potential candidate from Bali Assembly constituency. On the other hand, Jitendra Tewari is likely to clash with Pandabeshwar. Star candidate Rudranil Ghosh’s name is coming up for Shibpur assembly constituency. However, the name of Mahaguru Mithun Chakraborty is almost unlikely to come up. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
