#Kolkata: March 14, 2006. Exactly 14 years ago today, in the left era, an unknown village in East Midnapore came up in the headlines. The politics of Bengal was shaken by the land eviction movement. Standing on that foundation, a historic turn of events took place exactly two years later. The Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee came to the masnad of Bengal, ending thirty years of left rule. Today, Mamata posted on Twitter remembering the Nandigram movement.
In his post, the Chief Minister conveyed the message to the families of the martyrs of the Nandigram movement and the people at the forefront of that movement. He wrote, “Innocent villagers were shot dead by police in Nandigram on this day in 2007. Many bodies were not found that day. It was a dark chapter in the history of the state. We pay our respects to all those who lost their lives on Nandigram soil that day.”

Trinamool’s manifesto was to be published on March 11 in this election. But all the plans were thwarted when the team leader’s leg was injured. In the end, it was decided that the manifesto would be published on Sunday. Because the memory of March 14 is deeply involved with the Nandigram land movement. And the Trinamool leader has entered the field with a bird’s eye view of this Nandigram in this election. However, the party finally informed on Saturday night that the publication of the Trinamool manifesto is being postponed due to technical reasons. However, on the occasion of Nandigram Day, Trinamool leaders, party leaders, activists and supporters will take to the streets. Mamata can’t walk on the highway due to leg injury. However, he will be present in a wheelchair at Hazra corner.
