During an interview, the actress discussed her then-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder. Nina previously stated to Seventeen that she would never date a co-star. Nonetheless, that is just what she did. Ian moved from co-star to lover in a flash, and she clarified her previous statement
“The first time I was on the cover of Seventeen, the cover line said ‘Nina: Why she wouldn’t date any of her co-stars.’ And then cut to two years later…it’s funny that I said that,”
she recalled during the interaction
She went on to say that she couldn’t help but fall in love with Ian, despite her best efforts. “You know what? It was honestly what I believed at the time. I didn’t want to be dating one of my co-stars—my goal on the show was to be professional. But sometimes you can’t help who you have a connection, and you can only fight it for so long—which I did for a really, really long time,” Nina said.

She stated that she opted to leave the show because she was afraid, she would not be able to find work after ‘The Vampire Diaries’.
The 31-year-old actress is currently dating American Olympian Shaun White (33). While Shaun is currently focused on capturing a gold medal, he may have another piece of bling on his mind in the near future. A source recently told Page Six that the twosome’s engagement is on the horizon.
“They are so freaking cute and solid together,” a friend of the couple shared with the publication. “I would not be surprised if an engagement happens any day now.”
