‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is finally here. Well, it’s been here for over two weeks now. However, it took some time for the movie to show its impact. Brie Larson and Captain Marvel win as Gal Gadot fails with ‘WW 1984’
‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is the sequel to ‘Wonder Woman’, DCEU’s most loved and only female superhero-led movie. ‘WW 1984’ was expected to bring Christmas cheers at last, after the exhausting year, as it was releasing in the Christmas season.

‘WW 1984’ and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ were the two movies expected to remind people that cinemas do still exist and are still, in the true sense, a reason for celebration. Turns out, both the movies failed to do so.
While the higher expectations and burden of performing in empty theatres can be blamed, to an extent, the movies themselves still failed the die-hard fans.
While Warner Bros. was being termed as brave to go ahead with ‘WW 1984’s’ release, even as Marvel kept pushing ‘Black Widow‘, the tables have now turned. And, surprisingly, a total off the chart’s competitor is being rewarded by the fans.
As Gal Gadot fails with ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, Captain Marvel and Brie Larson are being flooded with admiration from fans.
Brie Larson and Captain Marvel rejoice in Gal Gadot’s loss.
Captain Brie trends on Twitter – and that’s truly surprising
‘Captain Marvel’ and Brie Larson have been a go-to place for haters for a long time. Be it MCU fans, or haters, or people in general, it had been a tradition to compare any female-led movie or any superhero movie with ‘Captain Marvel’, and then trash over the photon shooting lady.
Turns out, this time as Gadot’s ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ released, fans actually started admiring Brie Larson and ‘Captain Marvel’.
‘Wonder Woman 1984’ has a terrible 5.5/10 rating on IMDb and a below-average 61% on Rotten Tomatoes. This might not accurately present all the good and bad of the movie, as it has plenty of going for it as well, but the overall experience for the audience has been a dud.
Even though ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is worse, ‘Captain Marvel’ to stay the standard for the worst.
Some fans on Twitter have started calling it the victory of ‘Captain Marvel’, not in the sense of ‘WW 1984’s’ failure, but as a recognition of how good ‘Captain Marvel’ was (as per some fans, of course).

Brie Larson appreciation tweets
Captain Marvel was trending on Twitter with over 10k tweets and Brie Larson was trending with almost 5k tweets. Though no one is sure if it was ‘Wonder Woman’ vs ‘Captain Marvel’ debate that started the Captain Brie Larson trend, or something else.
But, regardless of the reason, a large number of supporters came into the scene to support the movie, character, and the actress. Feige and Disney must have taken a sigh of relief as they recently announced ‘Captain Marvel 2’ with Brie Larson.
Captain Marvel & Brie Larson are trending, so I wanna take this moment to remind y’all that both the character and the actress have been a great role model not only to little kids but people in general. Some fans praised both Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. As no matter what, both the characters are extremely powerful and have established their worth in the respective franchises. On top of that, ‘Wonder Woman’ (2017) was no short of a spectacle.

Dwayne Johnson is set to enter DC as one of the strongest characters, Black Adam, which not only change the power dynamic on-screen but off-screen as well
The introduction of a character considered to be the World’s Mightiest Mortal could set the stage for a very thrilling power tussle in DC’s superhero hemisphere. Black Adam will be amplified by the reputation and status of Dwayne Johnson. The anti-hero will star in his own movie and perhaps, even make an appearance on Aquaman. These are clear signs that WB intends for the character to play a huge role in the DCEU going forward. This is hardly a surprise, considering how DC likes to put its villains in the spotlight, with Suicide Squad and Gotham City Sirens as clear examples.
You’ve waited long enough. As have I, thousands of years to be exact.

After over a decade of subtle discussions and wishful thinking, it finally looks like Warner Bros will be giving Dwayne Johnson his debut on the superhero big screen. The Black Adam movie was set to begin production in the spring of 2020 but the pandemic pretty much put every plan on hold. However, the spare time has given both the studios and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson plenty of time to water the appetite of fans with new information about the upcoming movie.
Black Adam Cast
DC held its first virtual FanDome event back in August 2020 where Johnson hosted a Black Adam session and briefed fans about the upcoming movie. Also appearing on the panel with him was Noah Centineo, the first actor to be cast in the movie alongside The Rock. Centineo is set to play Atom Smasher in the upcoming movie. To All The Boys I Love actor joins the DCEU as a very cool character which would be as exciting as it would be challenging.

Since then, even more, details have emerged about the upcoming movie. A few weeks ago, Dwayne Johnson took to his social media page to announce the casting of Aldis Hodge (Invisible Man, Hidden Figures) as the titular Hawkman. Later, Hodge posted a comic image of Hawkman on his personal page, expressing his excitement at bagging the role. While the production doesn’t kick off till spring of 2021, fans have been busy creating various art teasers about the path the Black Adam story might take, as well as the characters he would be up against.
Adam’s Origin Story and Powers
The Black Adam story is likely to begin – or flashback – on Kahndaq, where Adam’s origin story begins. He served as a slave on Kahndaq until the wizard Shazam granted him immense power, with the belief that he would use it to do good and defend the helpless. Unfortunately, Black Adam had a different agenda and method to his madness. He instead used his powers to exert revenge on his enemies, while ruling with a brutal and iron fist. He was consequently defeated and trapped but after thousands of years, he returns to wreak havoc on the modern world.
The Man in Black
Like most kids growing up, I dreamed about being a superhero. Having cool superpowers, fighting for what’s right and always protecting the people.
It all changed for me, when I was 10yrs old and… https://t.co/FPY9UySmlI
Being a direct arch-nemesis of Shazam, Black Adam’s powers are quite similar to Shazam’s. But while Billy Batson says “Shazam!” and gets powers originating from Greek-Roman gods, Black Adam’s powers are said to come from Egyptian gods. Billy Batson is imbued with the Wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury when he speaks the famed magic word.
Black Adam on the other hand, summons the powers of six Egyptian gods; the Stamina of Shu, the swiftness of Heru, the strength of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti, the power of Aton, and the courage of Mehen.

While there has been a lot of argument as to which set of gods holds – or donates – more power, it’s safe to say that there are more similarities than there are differences between the two characters. The only significant difference between would be the fact that Black Adam is more of an anti-hero. His knack for doing things in his own brutal way has often had him at loggerheads with both the Justice League Society of America (JSA) and the Justice League.
DC’s Biggest Superhero Adaption
The upcoming Black Adam movie has the potential to be DC’s biggest superhero screen adaptation yet. Partly because they’ve got one of the biggest names in present day entertainment playing the lead role, but also because the movie could introduce some of the biggest characters and teams in the DC universe. Justice Society of America was also teased during the FandDome event.
Apart from Atom Smasher and the recently announced Hawkman, there are reports that Doctor Fate could make his debut in Black Adam. Known for his mastery of ancient and complex magic, Doctor Fate brings a whole new dynamic into the DCEU. His mastery and use of magic would be quite interesting and exciting to behold as it has not been explored yet in the DCEU. With the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman vulnerable to magic, Doctor Fate would prove a very formidable foe for the Justice League.
Other characters expected to appear in the Black Adam movie include Cyclone and Hawkgirl, although casting for the roles have not been done yet.
Star Power of Black Adam
The movie is set to be directed by talented Spanish director, Jaume Collet-Serra. Some notable movies he has directed include House of Wax, Non-Stop and very recently, Disney’s Jungle Cruise where he worked closely with Dwayne Johnson.
Although DC seems to have rolled out their movie slate for the next two years, Black Adam was recently pulled off the slate where it formerly had a new release date set for December, 2021. This comes as no surprise considering how important the movie could be to the DCEU’s future storytelling.
With so much media heavy lifting by The Rock, a plethora of exciting heroes and villains getting ready to feature in the movie. Along with an exciting cast of talented actors, could Black Adam bring the much-needed spark to the DCEU that the Justice League failed to provide? Guess we’ll know soon enough.
Here’s the latest updates about bringing back the global phenomenon.
The era seems rife with — and ripe for — reboots and revivals of all kinds. Right from ‘Roseanne’ to ‘Full House’ to ‘Saved by the Bell’ and so many more, it’s been raining reboots and revivals from all over. But what when it comes to one of the most-watched and loved shows of all time? ‘Lost’ premiered in 2004 and ended after season 6 in 2010, not wincing before captivating and then baffling its viewers. There was lots to be had here: time travel, paranormal phenomena, and even some drama. While the show wrapped up with an ending that couldn’t have been more definite than the title of its last episode which was called “The End”, there still remain questions about the plot points. Yes, even 10 years after it was concluded.
Rumours and questions about the ‘Lost’ renewal have been around barely two years after the show’s official closure. But the TV series’ ex-showrunner Carlton Cuse said in an interview,
“It is the end of the story that we wanted to tell and we had no plans to go back and revisit it.”
He was actually only reiterating what some of the show’s other executives and creators have said about the show.
‘Lost’ Season 7: Could the Series Return?
But wait, stick with us. Upsetting as this may sound, there’s more to this. ‘Lost’ executive Damon Lindelof said in 2017 in another interviewthat a ‘Lost’ revival would have to have a new cast and characters. It would be a reboot with new faces, rather than a continuation of the story, rather than a sequel or spin-off. Although this is still speaking in the air in a sense, this does bode well for fans since the makers of the show seem to be interested in going back to the show.
We can’t tell you when as of now, but pertaining to where, we might have an idea. Cuse has referenced the network ABC for being interested in the franchise. Said he,
“I think it’s likely that at some point, ABC will want to reboot Lost because it’s a valuable franchise.”
What does ABC have to say to that? Channing Dungey, ABC’s now ex-president, told “TVLine” that at the time, they hadn’t had any official discussions about a ‘Lost’ reboot.
“It’s something that’s on a list of, ‘Wouldn’t that be great if… ,” but at this point it’s only at that place,”
She said.

Since these last few years have indeed seen lots of reboots, there is a chance that a highly lucrative fan-favourite show such as ‘Lost’ could be renewed. Until then, fingers crossed!

Whether monetary compensation is the right form of motivation for heads of states or not is a debatable topic and is also subjective. Despite the fact that power, influence, and change are the driving stimulus behind the responsibility of running a country, a little paycheck never hurts anybody.
Some of the government heads on this list of the world’s highest paid heads of states earn a lot more than the per capita GDP of their countries.
Others surprisingly don’t even make it to the 15 highest-paid heads of states and richest monarchs despite being the national leaders of huge economies like China’s Xi Jinping. The most peculiar case comes from the UK where Prime Minister Boris Johnson is considering resigning in the spring due to his low salary.
The data to create this list has been derived through the International Monetary Fund and other government agencies. Some of the countries have been excluded due to a lack of official records.
In addition to the highest-paid heads of states, we have also included the world’s richest monarchs in the list. These royal houses, kings, and queens receive tax-free compensation from the national governments and hold significant political authority. Therefore, it is impossible to exempt them from the list.
