Warner Bros. eventually proceeded with the production of the movie with renowned Hollywood director, Joss Whedon.

Whedons’ version of ‘Justice League’ was released in 2017, and featured many narrative changes based on Joss Whedon’s input.

Zack Snyder reportedly tortured by Warner Bros.

Following the film’s box office blunder, many fans along with the cast and crew rallied together and joined a growing movement demanding that Warner Bros “Release the Snyder Cut”, believing that under Snyder’s direction and artistic vision, the movie could have performed far better.

After what seemed like an uphill battle of patience, fans finally found redemption for their long wait when Warner Bros. announced work on the project would begin in 2020. Eventually, HBO Max officially released Jack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ on March 18, 2021.

Whedon has been accused of “gross, abusive” behaviour on set, first by ‘Justice League’ actor Ray Fisher, who plays Victor Stone a.k.a Cyborg in the movie. This Tweet below reveals the alleged no-holds-barred animosity between the two.

Joss Wheadon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.

He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.

What’s interesting is that Gal Gadot, who plays Diana a.k.a Wonder Woman in ‘Justice League’, also mirrored Ray Fisher’s sentiments as she revealed shocking details about working with Joss Whedon.

At this point, there was much outrage amongst both fans and ‘Justice League’ actors who now rallied behind the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse to demand the reinstatement of Zack Snyder for a re-do of ‘Justice League’.

Fans were optimistic they’d be able to convince Warner Bros. to release more ‘Justice League’ movies that were true to the comic books.

Warner Bros., however, has made it clear that Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ was a stand-alone movie and there would be no further instalments after that. It was also during this time that rumours spread of Zack Snyder’s claim that WB tortured him.

HOW WARNER BROS MADE ZACK SNYDER’S LIFE DIFFICULT

Warner Bros. had reportedly spent $70 million on the production of the Snyder cut; however, Zack Snyder accepted NO payment for his part in the re-release of the ‘Justice League’ movie.

According to Zack,

“I’m not getting paid. I didn’t want to be beholden to anyone, and it allowed me to keep my negotiating powers with these people pretty strong”.

In an interview with Uproxx , Snyder revealed some startling statements. Zack Snyder disclosed that Warner Bros made his life difficult. He mentioned feeling incredibly tortured at the hands of the studio the entire time. Snyder stated he had no idea why WB treated him the way they did. He mentioned the entire ordeal wasn’t normal, calling it a “once-in-a-generation bizarre situation!”

It’s interesting to note that Uproxx informed Snyder his comments may alienate him, and earn animosity from Warner Bros. to which Snyder pointed out that Warner Bros were the “ones that have been aggressive” the entire time.

It’s uncertain how Zack Snyder claims WB tortured him. But it may allude to the fact that they allegedly interfered with his narrative direction of the film.

However, Snyder still maintained that he was happy he got to finish his artistic vision and that it was a victory for the fans.

It is currently unknown if the director will return to create another DC film for WB studios. Especially after Zack Snyder has openly claimed Warner Bros made his life difficult. But the director did previously reveal that he remains hopeful to continue his work for the franchise if the opportunity presented itself.

#Kolkata: Coronavirus in Bengal has raised concerns about the Black Fungus. Black fungus is on the rise in the state. Three more people died on Wednesday due to Black Fungus Death in Bengal. The dead are all men. The three deceased were aged 42, 62 and 6 years respectively. With this, the number of deaths due to black fungus in the state increased to 11 people. Doctors have found the existence of this fungus in more than one new body.

On Wednesday, two more people were infected with black fungus. The total number of black fungus cases increased to 45 people. Indications of black fungus have also been found in the bodies of six new suspects. The total number of suspected victims rose to 93. A new suspect died Wednesday. She is a 32-year-old woman. A total of 19 people died of suspected black fungus.

A resident of Haridebpur died of the first black fungus infection in the state. But the infection did not stop there. Two patients from North Bengal also died of the infection last week. Doctors, however, say that one should be careful not to panic about this disease.

The state government has issued a general guideline on what kind of precautions should be taken. This fungus nests. #Kolkata: During the hearing of the Narad case in the High Court bench of the High Court on Wednesday, a tussle broke out between the Center and the state over Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Law Minister Malay Ghatak seeking to file affidavits.

When senior lawyer Rakesh Dwivedi went to give an affidavit on behalf of the Chief Minister and the Law Minister, he was vehemently opposed by the Centre’s Solicitor General Tushar Mehta. He said that after finishing the CBI question, the Chief Minister and the Law Minister now want to give an affidavit to find his loophole. In reply, Rakesh Dwivedi said, “If our affidavit is not accepted, there will be no justice.” The CBI has made serious allegations against the Chief Minister and the Law Minister. Avoiding us means not knowing the real facts, that is what the CBI wants.

Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal said, “We are not approving the affidavit. The unilateral question has already been completed. We are not accepting this affidavit in the middle of the hearing. The Solicitor General also sharpened the question, saying that there is a rule to run the court, there is dignity. What is happening is unprecedented. He demanded that the court take immediate action to set an example. In response, State Advocate General Kishore Dutt said, ‘Yes, it is truly unprecedented. The CBI is requesting to transfer the case with a letter! In the end, however, the Chief Minister and the Law Minister could not submit the affidavit on this day.

Mamata Banerjee visited the CBI office at the Nizam’s Palace on May 16 after the arrest of four heavyweight leaders in the Narad case. The CBI later complained to the court that the chief minister appeared in their office and tried to put pressure on the officials. The CBI had alleged that Law Minister Malay Ghatak also tried to exert influence by appearing with his followers in the Bankshal Court.

What was in the affidavit of the Chief Minister? Sources said in the affidavit that Mamata Banerjee was not present at Nizam’s Place as Chief Minister on May 16. He went as an ordinary citizen and was privileged to be associated with the families of the detainees, especially Subrata Mukherjee, with whom he has been associated since his student days. Mamata Banerjee did not enter the CBI office using any force. He, like everyone else, crossed three central security zones and reached the 13th and 15th floors of the building where the CBI office is located at the Nizam’s Palace. As long as he was in the CBI office, he followed all the rules as advised by the CBI officials. The Chief Minister’s affidavit also claimed that the allegations against him were imaginary.

It was further claimed that Mamata Banerjee did not break any law and order as long as she was in the office of CBI’s Nizam Palace. He did not enter the CBI office with anyone other than the authorized person. He did not attend the gathering outside the gate of the Nizam’s Palace in any way or address the gathering. The affidavit states that when Mamata Banerjee arrived at the Nizam’s Palace at 10.30 am, there was no crowd. Mamata Banerjee did not participate in any siege or gathering outside the Nizam’s Palace. The Chief Minister’s affidavit also claimed that the state government and its subordinate Kolkata Police had cooperated with CBI officials in all possible ways.
