A section of the BJP says that the fight between Babul Supriya and Dilip Ghosh is not unknown to anyone in the BJP camp in Bengal. Dilip’s statement after Babul Supriya announced his political asceticism on Facebook on Saturday brought that truth back to the fore. Dilip sneered at Babul’s announcement to quit politics and said, Aunt must have a mustache first. ‘ Babul countered Dilip’s comment on Facebook. First-time borrowers and first generation entrepreneurs displayed tremendous resilience during pandemic: NeoGrowth Social Impact Study 2021

MUMBAI, India, Aug. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — NeoGrowth, India’s leading digital lender serving underbanked SME businesses, recently released the Social Impact Report 2021, which indicated that the company extended 64.5 percent of its loans to first-time borrowers while 84 percent of the total loans disbursed were to first generation entrepreneurs to overcome COVID-related challenges and capitalize on the opportunity.

The study was conducted on a sample from a base of over 20,000 MSMEs across seven cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. It aimed to measure and evaluate the impact created by loans in the lives of its customers. 

While India grappled with the COVID-19 outbreak and despite the challenging headwinds, NeoGrowth extended its lending to first-generation entrepreneurs, assisted women entrepreneurs, and enabled customers in job creation and improvement of credit scores. 

The pandemic disproportionately impacted women, by deepening existing economic and social inequalities, as observed in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2021. The company’s loans to women-run or women-led businesses showed an uptick of 32 percent. 4 percent of the total loans disbursed by the company were to first generation women entrepreneurs during the pandemic, thus robustly supporting this section of society.

Almost 85 percent of the customers surveyed were impacted due to business shutdown or low business. 70.6 percent of all customers sustained their business through their own savings, while 10.6 percent opted for a further loan from the company. Interestingly, envisaging a hit to their existing business due to the pandemic, 3 percent of the customers started another business in areas that were booming.

The company advocated and convinced 92 percent of its borrowers to avail of health insurance. 

As per the survey, 86.6 percent of the respondents showed an increase in the number of their employees, post availing loans from NeoGrowth.

The process of digitisation was greatly accelerated by the lending sector, which witnessed 38 percent YoY growth as of September 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. NeoGrowth disbursed payments through digital channels, increasing transparency, and assisted customers with the process of digitising their business through its proprietary DiGibizz platform. This is particularly relevant as 22.4 percent of the customers surveyed were not even graduates and 26.5 percent of the MSMEs were from Tier-2 cities.

For one production unit of each electricity power produced (MW), the company pledged to reduce electricity consumption by 15% and water consumption by 10% in 2020 . In 2019 clean-energy generation capacity of solar power plants owned by Trina Solar in China exceeded the power consumption of all the company’s domestic manufacturing plants and R&D centers by 14 million kWh. Last year the corresponding figure was almost 30 times as much, 412 million kWh.

Sheen went so far as to insult ‘Two and a Half Men’ by calling it “a pukefest that everyone worships”. Ultimately, he was removed from the show. This did not deter him from further ridiculing the show as his main target became Ashton Kutcher, his replacement.

The actor continuously targeted Kutcher, who also reached the peak of his tolerance and asked Charlie Sheen to “shut the f**k up“. Following this, Sheen threatened to put Kutcher on “a hospital food diet for a year”. He even called his former co-actor and good friend Jon Cryer “a traitor and a troll”.

PAYBACK TIME

Charlie Sheen was digging his own grave through his inappropriate post-exit behaviour towards the show’s cast and crew. His audacity was used against him by ‘Two and a Half Men’ to insult him.

Charlie Sheen’s former co-star Jon Cryer also did not mince his words. He not-so-subtly asserted his real-life worth by expressing about his on-screen brother,

“(Charlie) didn’t think I could go on without him. He thought I was more of a supporting character in his life. But it turns out I was more of a co-lead.”

‘Two and a Half Men’ writers also avenged all the insults Charlie Sheen threw at Chuck Lorre. They included a scene where Walden (Kutcher) looked up death details of Charlie (Sheen) and mentioned,

“I found this crazy rant about a former employer”.

The most amusing and respectful part about all these Charlie Sheen easter eggs in the series finale is that while they are hilarious, they are still respectful. They do not stoop down to Sheen’s unabashed lack of decency.

The show ultimately revealed Charlie Harper (Sheen) had died mysteriously in Paris, to which his brother Alan (Cryer) replied by taking a dig at Charlie Sheen’s life,

“It wasn’t that mysterious. He was taking a lot of drugs and pissed off almost everybody”.

Finally, the show caught on the most viral thing about Charlie Sheen’s post-Two and a Half Men life, his obsession with the catchphrase “winning”. This also has a hilariously dedicated space in Urban Dictionary.

‘Two and a Half Men’ culminated with Chuck Lorre exclaiming at the camera, “winning” before a piano crashed on top of him. The piano also pummels a Charlie Sheen doppelganger, as if ‘Two and a Half Men’ crushing Charlie Sheen with insults needed a literal representation.

Although the actor has since expressed remorse over his actions and accepted that his anger was misplaced, ‘Two and a Half Men’ made Charlie Sheen pay for his insulting deeds. After all, what goes around comes around.
