Abir Ghoshal, Kolkata: The Government of West Bengal has procured ration rice (Mid Day Meal) for the whole year. State Food Minister Rathin Ghosh said the government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, had procured enough paddy to supply rice for rations for the next one year. In addition, the Anganwari Center and the rice required for the government’s mid-day meal scheme project looking at the whole year will be arranged by the end of this month (Latest Bengali News).
On the other hand, the government has already bought enough paddy. The West Bengal government has already procured sufficient quantity of paddy from farmers during the current kharif season. The total target for paddy from November 2021 to February 2022 was about 3.2 million tons. According to the Food Department, 4.2 million tons of rice is required annually for news, mid-day meal projects and Anganwari centers, whereas ration consumers need about 2.6 million tons per year. .
As on March 5, the state government has procured about 3.8 million tonnes of paddy. Another 4.2 million tonnes of paddy is expected to be procured this month for the Anganwari Center and its mid-day meal project.
The West Bengal government has increased the need for rice targets. The state government has also increased the target for kharif mor paddy collection. The previous figure was 4.8 million tonnes, with 4.9 million tonnes expected to be collected by September. To ensure that small and marginal farmers are not forced to sell their produce at low prices, the state government placed special emphasis on paddy procurement from December to March. Statistics show that the state government has succeeded in this. The food department hopes to solve all the problems of collecting 49 lakh tonnes of paddy this season Once again, the state government has requested the centrally-run Food Corporation of India to procure 600,000 tonnes of paddy.

He shared, “It’s funny, I got so many text messages and so many calls about that moment in the cinema. My nephew sent me a recording of everyone cheering. So, I snuck into a movie theatre near where I live and literally stood in the corridor… and, sadly, my experience was it was dead fucking quiet! (Laughs) I was so disappointed – my wife was with me, and she was recording me because it’d be fun to have that moment of everyone cheering, and then… tumbleweed!”

In a conversation with “HeyUGuys”, Cox stated that he was feeling very relieved that he could finally talk about his role as Murdock in ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’. “It’s a relief to be able to talk about it. Y’know, getting that phone call was a life-changing moment, really…. My involvement with that character and the MCU was dead and buried, I hadn’t heard anything for a couple of years and so I’d moved on. It was incredibly unexpected and out of the blue.”
Cox went on to describe a face-to-face meeting he had in late 2019 with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who, despite ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ being in development at the time, misled him by not revealing Marvel Studios‘ ‘Daredevil’ plans. In retrospect, Cox described Feige as “a very good liar” with a strong poker face that duped the ‘Daredevil’ actor.
Cox said, “I did a play in 2019 with Tom Hiddleston and Kevin Feige came to see our play. And Y’know, I went and shook hands with him and said hi and he said how much he enjoyed the play. Never mentioned Daredevil or anything like that. So, it turns out he’s a very good liar as well (laughs)”.
The actor also spoke about the filming process and the “intense” secrecy that surrounded it. “I got the call midway through lockdown, Summer of 2020… and we filmed Spider-Man in March of 2021, so I had to keep it secret for almost a year… So yeah, it’s been intense.”

Two Black Superman projects in the works
The first rumours of a ‘Superman Reboot’ surfaced in February. J.J. Abrams will produce, and the script will get written by acclaimed author and comics writer Ta-Nehisi Coates. Among the candidates for director are Barry Jenkins, Steven Caple Jr., and Regina King.
There have been no casting announcements. At the same time, it got reported that this project would feature a Black Superman, a first for DC films. Calvin Ellis, a character introduced in DC Comics as the Superman of Earth-23, will be the subject of the film.
There are currently two Black Superman projects in the works. Aside from the film, the other project is an HBO Max series executive produced by Michael B. Jordan. In a recent interview with THR, Henry Cavill gave his candid thoughts about the Black Superman project. He is excited about the movie. He added that “Superman is far more than skin colour. He is ideal”.
In terms of the film’s impact on the larger DC cinematic universe, the actor emphasises that “there can be multiple Supermen going on”.

Cavill added: “It is exciting — Superman’s far more than skin colour. Superman is an ideal. Superman’s an extraordinary thing that lives within our hearts. Why not have multiple Supermen going on? Joaquin Phoenix did a wonderful ‘Joker’ movie. So what if it is not tied to the rest of [the franchise]”?
There is definitely room for more than one Superman in DC’s upcoming film slate. While studios may be hesitant to have multiple portrayals of the same character for fear of confusing audiences, ‘Joker’ demonstrated that audiences are more adaptable than studios may believe.
Cavill’s Superman could easily coexist with a new Black Superman as long as their portrayals are distinct, just as Phoenix’s tragic Joker distinguished himself from Jared Leto’s chaotic interpretation of the character.

Currently, comics are taking a turn in which multiple storylines and worlds coexist, so the new Superman projects do not rule out Henry Cavill as Superman just yet. That will be the basis for the new ‘The Flash’ film.
This new film introduces the DC franchise’s first live-action multiverse. Barry Allen causes a rift in the universe, bringing back both new and old versions of popular DC superheroes. Christian Convery, who plays Gus in the show, recently shared behind-the-scenes training photos and footage from Season 2 on his Instagram account. His Instagram post stated that he is receiving training from the ‘BEST MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING CENTER’.
Artists Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Stefania LaVie Owen, Dania Ramirez, Aliza Vellani, and James Brolin will be reprising their original roles for season 2 of the comic-based post-apocalyptic fantasy series, ‘Sweet Tooth’. Josh Brolin is supposed to return to take up his job as the narrator for season 2 as well.
