Playing Batman was a big deal for Robert Pattinson. In too much excitement, he came up with his own version of Batman’s voice, which was drastically different from the classic Batman voice. It didn’t turn out well for him!
When he isn’t Bruce Wayne, the Batman speaks in a menacing low hoarse tone to throw people off regarding his original identity. Every iteration of Batman had its own distinct versions of the voice. Robert Pattinson too worked on his own iteration of the voice, but he fell flat. He completely forgot how Batman is supposed to sound! On Wednesday’s episode of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, he was a guest prior to the March 4 release of ‘The Batman’. He said that he developed a ‘whispering’ voice for the character which he thought was different from anything that had been done before. However, two weeks into the shoot he was asked to not do it.

“Everyone does this kind of gruff, gravelly thing, and I’m like, ‘I’m going to do the opposite — I’m gonna go really whispery’”, the actor recalled. “And I tried to do it for the first two weeks, and it just looked absolutely atrocious, and they told me to stop doing it.”
Pattinson also confessed during the same interview that he eventually learned that the wise thing was to keep working on the voice until he got it right

He had to eventually retort back to the classic deeper, husky voice which has become a signature of the character. However, he also recalled that people reminded him that he was not the only one who had tried to experiment with something like this.
Nick, who was working in the costumes department, reminded him that Christian Bale also did the same. “I found out from Nick, who was putting me in the suit every day, that’s what Christian Bale did on Batman Begins as well”, Pattinson remarked. “And if you listen to the first Batman Begins teaser trailer, you can hear the original voice. I only found this out a couple of weeks ago.”

However, Pattinson also confessed during the same interview that he eventually learned that the wise thing was to keep working on the voice until he got it right. “You can feel when it feels right. You put the suit on, and you have to speak in a certain way”, he said.
It was a fun conversation through and through. Robert went on to share memories of early communication between him and director Matt Reeves regarding the story and the character. Robert shared a very interesting trivia about Reeves’ early ideas about how Bruce Wayne must carry himself. “One of the first things that Matt said to me — he’s like, ‘He’s sort of inspired by Kurt Cobain”, Pattinson said. “I’m like, ‘Really? That’s kind of the opposite of what I imagined Bruce Wayne to be’”. Pattinson liked the idea and pitched how he should be dressed like the late Nirvana front-man. However, the idea which initially seemed interesting was not as interesting anymore and Reeves decided to not go for it.
This offered Kimmel an opportunity to quip in his own familiar way as he replied, “So you had a lot of bad ideas to start with”. Pattinson played along and replied “Tons!”
Directed by Matt Reeves, the WB film releases worldwide on March 4, 2022. The film stars Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz as Batman and Catwoman respectively. The film also has an ensemble of supporting cast members such as Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright and Andy Serkis playing key roles.
Tell us in the comments if you also think that the Batman voice shouldn’t be fiddled with, and they should keep the classic raspy hoarse tone. Also, tell us if you think ‘The Batman’ is going to revive the DCEU. Stay updated with DKODING on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

#Kolkata: NHAI authorities want to speed up work on the East-West corridor of national highways in the state. This project has been going on for the last two years. As an effort, RP Singh, the general manager of the NHAI’s state, wrote a letter to the then chief secretary of the state, Alapan Banerjee. The letter was accompanied by a copy of the interim directions in the public interest litigation in the division bench of the Calcutta High Court. Work on the important East-West corridor then began at the initiative of the state. District governors have been instructed to work to resolve various issues, including land.
Work got stuck between Ghoshpukur and Dhupguri. After acquiring the land and going to work, there was a problem due to law and order. The state government has assured that all these issues will be resolved. However, the National Road Authority has to face problems from time to time while going to work. So again they are seeking the help of the state. A division bench of Justice Sanjeev Banerjee and Justice Arijit Banerjee of the Calcutta High Court directed the hearing of the case. The National Roads Authority will have to provide all possible assistance to the concerned district administrations to get the land for the four-lane road.
However, due to lack of land, work on the East-West Highway corridor was once closed in the state. Due to lack of land, work is stuck in the state. East-West corridor is being constructed from Silchar to Porbandar. The budget of this project in the state is 1600 crore rupees. Work was stalled due to lack of land in Kochbihar and Alipurduar districts. This project is divided into two parts. The first part is from Dhupguri to Salsabari. The total distance of this part is 72 km. The distance from Dhupguri to Falakata is 29 km. Land acquisition and DPR work is going on in this part. The other part is to make incense bypass.
The problem has started from the time of survey work here. The second part of the project is from Falakata to Salsabari. The distance of this part is 43 kilometers. Work on the project started in January 2019. The contractor company wanted to stop the work due to lack of land. The district governors were asked about the land more than once. The work of this project was stopped due to non-fulfillment of the problem. The High Court had also appointed a special officer to oversee the smooth construction of the four-lane east-west road.
Alipurduar and Kochbihar districts together will build about 42 km long road. The part of the landlords of the part where the land did not match has taken compensation. But another part has been sued demanding an increase in the rate of compensation. The National Roads Authority (NRA) had said in a letter to Navanne that there should be no legal impediment to getting the land even if the dispute over the compensation rate continues. From Ghoshpukur to Dhupguri and from Falataka to Salsalabari কাজ these two sections were started by the National Roads Authority. After that about eight years have passed but no part of the work has been completed. The land has come to a standstill.
After Thursday’s meeting, the National Roads Authority (NRA) is expected to move ahead with the construction of one of the most important national highways in North Bengal. All in all, the northern road is moving forward at the initiative of the state.

#Kolkata: After forming the government for the third time in Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has focused on industrial trade. Preparations for the Bengal Global Summit 2022 are practically starting from Tuesday evening. The main goal of this conference is employment. The World Bengal Trade Conference (BGBS) will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, April 20 and 21 at the Biswabangla Convention Center in Newtown. And four days before the start of that conference, Britain gave a big message. The destination of investment is Bangla. That is why Britain is sending the largest delegation in recent times, which will include the country’s leading industrialists and heads of various organizations.
According to sources, the government of Bengal and some educational institutions will sign MoUs on education and research with several British universities. Important decisions regarding the exchange of research work between different universities may also be taken at the trade conference. As a result, the students will benefit greatly.
A British Deputy High Commission source said on Sunday that 49 senior delegates would arrive from Britain. They will have a ‘Business to Business’ meeting with the Bengal Chamber of Commerce. Britain is focusing on working jointly with Bengal in education, innovation or research.
Nick Lowe, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, said: “Our Prime Minister Boris Johnson has drawn up a roadmap for enhancing industrial and trade deals with India. Britain keen on more trade with Bengal (Bengal Global Summit 2022). Of this, 30,000 jobs have been created in Kolkata alone. UK companies are keen to increase investment in Bengal. In the same way that companies doing business elsewhere in India, they want to set foot in Kolkata this time. ”
Not only Britain, but also the representatives of America, France, Germany, Italy and China are looking at investing in Bengal. They will give details in a day or two. In fact, investment proposals from abroad, in addition to the country’s top industrialists, have just begun to arrive. Officials of the industry department are also sure that the Bengali New Year will be considered as the year of investment.
This is the first time that such a big industrial conference is going to be organized in the country in the post-emergency situation. Bengali has taken the initiative. This is going to be the first such conference in Bengal. That is one of the reasons why Bengal has become the center of attraction for industrialists. Last time, the total number of delegates from 35 countries was about four thousand. The number of foreign delegates is 450. This time the number is increasing, initially this is the news. The registration process is still going on. In the previous five conferences, a total investment of about 12 lakh 37 thousand crore taka has come to Bengal.
