Kolkata: Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Harry Brook, who scored IPL 2023’s first century on Friday, admitted he was putting pressure on himself and was happy to shut the social media critics at the Eden Gardens against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Brook, bought by SRH for a whopping Rs 13.25 crore during the auction after his exploits in neighbouring Pakistan Super League, managed to crack the IPL code in style with a 100 not out from 55 balls including 12 fours and three sixes. SRH rode on Brook’s ton to post 228/4.
“Was a special night. Thankfully we got over the line as well. Got a little tense in the middle. A lot of people say that opening the batting in T20 is the best time to bat. I’m happy to bat anywhere,” said Brook, who was chosen the Player of the Match.
Bought for such a massive amount, Brook didn’t start the IPL 2023 the way he wanted, scoring 13, 3 and 13 in his first three games. His lean patch with the bat also earned him social media criticism but the England youngster chose to give it back on the field.
“I was putting pressure on myself a little bit. You go on social media and people are calling you rubbish. There’s a lot of Indian fans out there who’ll say well done tonight. But they were slagging me off a few days ago. Glad I could shut them up to be honest,” he added.

KKR Vs SRH: Harry Brook Scores First Century Of IPL 2023 Against Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata: Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Harry Brook became the first player to score a century in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
His unbeaten 100 came off just 55 balls with 12 fours and three sixes as SRH finished at a mammoth 228/4 in 20 overs. This is also the first time SRH have scored past 200 in IPL 2023. Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan could have scored the first ton in IPL 2023, but had to be contained at 99 not out against SRH in their last game.
Having scored 13, 3 and 13 in the first three games, Brook was right on the money from the first over against KKR and toiled hard with the opposition bowlers. For the unknown. Brook was dropped when on 45 by Suyash Sharma off his own bowling.
“I’ve had a bit of trouble with spin, but I wanted to use the powerplay to my advantage. So middle overs wanted to rotate strike and let the other boys do the hitting,” Brook said after his innings.
“It is a belter of a pitch, we need to bowl our lengths rightly and take wickets. We still got a job to do. My girlfriend is here but the rest of my family have just left, I’m sure they’ll all be very happy for me,” he added.

Hair Care: Step-by-Step Guide to Use a Hair Mask And Conditioner For Healthy Manes
Hair Care: Having silky, smooth, and deeply nourished hair is always a dream for every girl. Hence, whether you have small-length or long thick hair, taking care of hair health is challenging. Especially in this polluted world where the natural surrounding is so dusty and dry, it gets hard for us to maintain our hair health. However, there are several ways to keep them nourished if we choose the right products and methods to use those products. Aakriti Suri, Happier Skincare founder shares a step-by-step guide to using a hair mask and conditioner.
Hair masks and conditioners have similar properties but with a slight difference. Hair masks are mostly used to target specific hair concerns whereas hair conditioners treat all major hair concerns. Did you know that incorporating both in your hair wash routine helps you to get softer, stronger, and shinier-looking hair after every single use?
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO GETTING HEALTHY AND NOURISHED HAIR
Wash Your Hair Properly: This is the important thing to do before using a hair mask or conditioner. Your hair needs to be super clean and wet. Wet hair helps to soak the key ingredients of your hair mask. In case, you feel your hair is super dry even after washing your hair, then use a little conditioner before the mask. It’s the best way to get 100% benefits from using the hair mask. Remember, a hair mask works best only on wet hair.
Remove Excessive Water: Once you wash your hair, use a hair towel to remove the excess dripping water from your hair. For better results, you mustn’t be applying the product on damp hair. Ideally, we recommend using a microfibre towel to soak or draw the water content from your hair without damaging them with friction.
Divide Your Hair: For applying the hair mask or conditioner effectively, divide your hair into 4-5 sections especially if you have long hair. You can divide the sections using clips. The motive is to make sure that all your hair lengths get the benefit of your hair mask or conditioner.
Apply Hair Mask: Here comes the best part. How to apply a hair mask or how to use a hair mask? The rule is to focus on the middle length first and then apply it to the ends of your hair. All you need is to take a little amount of hair mask in your palm, then gently massage the product to each section in a downward motion for at least 20-30 seconds. In such a way, you will be able to penetrate the product and seal the cuticle for smoothness, strength, and shine.
Hot Towel Spa: You can’t ignore this step if you want to make the best use of your hair mask. Take a hot towel or any cotton t-shirt and compress your hair using the same. The compression helps your hair to get the ultimate benefit of all ingredients available in the hair mask. This activity helps ingredients to penetrate more deeply into your hair strands.
Leave it For 10 Minutes: One should not worry to leave a mask on. You can even keep it longer than the written instructions. Ideally, it’s advised to leave a hot towel on your hair mask for at least 10 minutes. Once you do, it works like magic. Also, make sure you won’t brush your wet hair while doing this activity. Combing your wet hair means you are inviting hair breakage.
Rinse Thoroughly: After 10 minutes, you can rinse your hair. Hair masks are mostly greasy in texture as it helps to lock the moisture in your locks. Hence, you need to rinse your hair thoroughly to remove the mask. You may need to use excessive water to rinse it properly. Once done, now the hair is ready and set to go! You will be delighted to see the results even after the first use. Hair masks act wonders when it comes to your hair.
NOTE: The process is also similar in case you want to use conditioner instead of a hair mask. However, there is no need to use a hot towel or any cloth after using the conditioner.

New Delhi: Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop felt Australia will have the edge over India in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final but is going to be a competitive game. The WTC final will be played from June 7-11 at The Oval, just seven days after the completition of IPL 2023.
While the cricketing world is glued to the IPL, the players and followers of the game are eagerly waiting for the WTC final in London in June. It will be India’s second successive final WTC after they beat Australia at home recently.
“It is going be different (that series in India), again it will be very competitive,” Bishop told PTI. “Australia found better form at the back end of the series and they go to England in some way more advantageous position because you are playing a strong opposition (India) out of their comfort zone.
“The Oval can level things up for both sides as it can be very flat . India having had the experience of the last WTC final, will be hoping they have the right preparation and Australia too would want to get that trophy. It is going to a great game,” reckoned Bishop.
Notably, India will have two different captains in the WTC Finals. In the inaugural edition Virat Kohli led the side that lost to New Zealand in the summit clash. This time Rohit Sharma will captain India.
However, India have lot to ponder with their middle order and the pace bowling attack. With no Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer (both out due to injuries), India need someone who can hold the middle order and give a balance to the team.
Ajinkya Rahane, who last played a Test match for India in January 2022, might be an option considering his experiences in overseas conditions. He has been a backbone to this Indian team for long and was brilliant in the domestic season as well.
It is still not known when will Jasprit Bumrah return from injury. The 29-year-old underwent a surgery in New Zealand last month following recurring back issues that have kept him away from the game since September 2022.
In case Bumrah doesn’t get fit in time before WTC final, the team management may have look up to someone like Shardul Thakur for the third pacer’s slot.

New Delhi: After Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming revealed the MS Dhoni is nursing a knee injury, CEO Kasi Viswanathan said the former India captain won’t be missing any games in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
“He will play,” Viswanathan was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz. “It is true that he has an injury to his knee but he has not told us otherwise.” However, what’s more concerning is English all-rounder Ben Stokes is likely to sit out for one more week.
Stokes has not played CSK’s lst two games in IPL 2023. “Ben is doing well, he is recovering fast, and should definitely be fit for the April 30 game,” Viswanathan said. That is an afternoon match at the Chepauk against Punjab Kings.
“He could even be ready earlier, maybe by the April 27 game,” the CSK official added. Dhoni suffered the injury against Rajasthan Royals. “He is nursing a knee injury, which you can see in some of his movements. It’s hindering him somewhat. His fitness has always been very professional. He comes a month before the tournament starts. He’s a great player. We have never doubted him. He’s just amazing,” Fleming had said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dhoni also completed his 200th match as CSK captain in the match against Royals. On the other hand, Stokes, who was bought for Rs 16.25 crore, is believed to injured his left toe while bowling.
The England Test skipper, so far has bowled just one over and scored 7 and 8 in two games he has played. On Deepak Chahar’s injury, Viswnathan said the pacer will need more time to recover.
“He will take longer than Ben to be back in action. Hopefully, he will be ready by the first week of May,” Viswanathan added. He walked off the field against Mumbai Indians after bowling just one over.
So far, CSK have won two matches and lost two in IPL 2023. They next play an away game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 17.
