#Kolkata: In the midst of the brawl with Debanjan Dev, the work of tightening the security of the health building started in earnest. Shuvendu Adhikari suddenly left Swasthya Bhavan on Friday amid a brawl over the Bhuiyan vaccine scandal. He also warned of a full investigation by submitting a memorandum. The security of the Salt Lake Health Building has been beefed up in anticipation of future protests by opposition camps.
Sources said the barricade has already been set up outside the main gate and before entering the health building. Private security guards and a large number of police from the Bidhan Nagar Police Commissioner have been deployed at the health building. Health officials say the preparations are for free entry without an appointment or to prevent any sudden protests. An official, who did not want to be named, said that the meeting with the health secretary was held yesterday without any appointment. Increasing security in his view.
It is to be noted that Shuvendu Adhikari has written a letter to the Center alleging politics in the midst of the controversy over vaccination. In a letter to the Union Health Minister, Shuvendu alleged that the state government’s reluctance to vaccinate in the state was lagging far behind. He further alleged that the state government was distributing ticket coupons like many voter slips. Shuvendu Adhikari is demanding a full investigation into the incident to the effect that public health is a priority.
Note that Devanjan was not alone in the investigation. From the driver to the office worker, the security guard has worked with Debanjan in a team. Police have recently arrested Shantanu Manna, who is close to Devanjan. Shantanu Debanjan was in charge of conducting that infamous vaccination camp in Kasba.
