#Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has been nominated as the vice-presidential candidate of the NDA camp. His name was announced after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. It is known that the Governor of Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar will fight as the nominated candidate of the NDA camp in this year’s Vice President Election. BJP All India President JP Nadda announced this on Saturday evening. This new surprise of the BJP has created a virtual uproar in national politics. And then Trinamool took another big decision.
Trinamool is not present at the meeting called by the opposition camp regarding the election of the vice-presidential candidate. This meeting will be held at Sharad Pawar’s house at 3 pm on Sunday. But Sudeep Banerjee will not go to that meeting even if he is in Delhi. The reason why Trinamool did not go to this meeting has not yet been clarified. However, according to sources, Sudeep Banerjee is not going to the meeting due to lack of specific instructions from the party.
According to party sources, the Trinamool Congress leadership is reluctant to open its mouth about the strategy of the party in the vice-presidential election. For now they are waiting for July 21 A meeting was called at the Chief Minister’s residence at Kalighat at 4 pm that day. Where all MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be present Trinamool Congress strategy in the Vice President election will be informed there.
The NDA camp has already given a surprise by announcing the name of West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Vice President. All eyes are now on who the opposition alliance will put together as a candidate But at such an important time, the Trinamool avoided the meeting of the opposition camp. As a result, the confusion about the ruling party in West Bengal continued.
NDA camp has fielded tribal Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election. On the other hand, opposition candidate is Yashwant Sinha. In that context, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that if Draupadi Murmu was nominated as a candidate, she would have kept his name in consideration. In his words, “If the BJP had announced earlier that they are running for a tribal woman, we would have tried to see if we could support them.” This time, Trinamool’s position in the vice-presidential election is also increasing.
