Sabrina’s story is filled with cycles of abuse, teen pregnancy, and a violent attempt on her life that ultimately left her completely blind. Although her life has been “no crystal stair,” Sabrina credits her faith as the fuel that equips her with the confidence and tenacity to inspire others to repair, recreate and restore their purpose and infinite potential.
The South Carolina native, mother of four, including her son, superstar NFL wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and grandmother of six is the founder and CEO of S.M.O.O.O.T.H., Inc. She intends to continue raising awareness year-round by unmasking the myth and unveiling the many different shades of purple surrounding domestic abuse.
Sabrina’s passion for her community has been the catalyst for the many domestic violence awareness programs facilitated by S.M.O.O.O.T.H., Inc., such as Pretty Scars into Stars, 100 Shades of Purple, S.M.O.O.O.T.H. Santa, and the S.M.O.O.O.T.H. Transition Initiative. From victim to victor, Sabrina uses her voice, wisdom, and her unique experiences to inspire healing and promote transcendence from hurt and shame due to domestic violence and abuse.
