Actor Ameesha Patel tweeted on Saturday that people needed to “get a life” and stop spreading rumors about her, a day after news of her allegedly defrauding a producer surfaced online. According to Firstpost, Ameesha Patel has been accused by producer Ajay Kumar Singh of having him invest in a film in 2017 titled Desi Magic and getting him to transfer Rs 2.5 crore in her bank account. The producer alleged that the actor did not return the amount despite later refusing to be a part of the film.
Without mentioning the case, Ameesha took to Twitter to shut down “ridiculous rumors” about her.

The said case was heard by the Jharkhand High Court earlier this week, where both the parties were reportedly asked to settle the matter via mediation. The court has directed them to file a written response in the next two weeks.
Ameesha Patel has been away from the screen for almost three years now. Her last project was the Sunny Deol-starrer Bhaiaji Superhit, in 2018.

“You must have noticed about the vaccination program that India is able to help others because India today is self-reliant in the field of medicines and vaccines,” he said.
So far, India has provided 56 lakh doses of coronavirus vaccines under grants assistance to a number of countries while 100 lakh doses were sent under commercial supplies, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday.
LOVELY GUEST house, a four-room structure situated on one of the link roads en route to Tikkar Tal in Morni, is now Gold Star Guest House. The building at Banswala village had hit the national headlines for all the wrong reasons when a woman had accused 40 people of raping her inside the guest house in July 2018.
In the subsequent action, at least four police personnel were suspended, two were shifted and 11 people, including the husband of the victim, were arrested. The husband was arrested under the charges of immoral trafficking, which were later added to the FIR registered at Chandimandir police station.
At that time, Lovely Guest House was a rented accommodation being run by one Sunny. The property was owned by two men: Karm Chand of Taparia village and Roshan Lal of Banswala village.
Now it has become Gold Star Guest House offering rooms on rent with breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the owners, Karm Chand, runs a shop adjoining the guest house. He says, “We changed the name from Lovely Guest House to Gold Star Guest House. Nobody was ready to take room here. The old name was a stigma for us. Then we changed its name.
In 2018, we gave the property on rent to one Sunny. I along with my partner had signed a rent deed with Sunny, who is still lodged in the jail. We were interrogated by the police and later given a clean chit. People do come here but do not stay here. Area cops regularly come to check the records. ”
Days after the gang rape, around 100 small, big roadside guest houses and hotels in Morni hills were temporarily closed. Most of these hotels were unauthorized. The hotel owners met government officials, local politicians and they were allowed to operate again their hotels after around six months. The district administration had once decided to impose The Sarai Act 1867 in Morni but the said law was very old.
ACP Raj Kumar of Panchkula police says, “The Morni gang rape case is sub judice. There is no provision of permanent seizure of a place related to the crime. I have to check the status of Lovely Guest House on the ground. Panchkula Deputy Commissioner recently issued notices against several hotel owners under Punjab Village Common Land Regulations Act, 1961. The owners will have to submit reply. I will check the status. ”
A source said, “Criminal charges against all 11 accused were framed. The case is under trial. Evidence is being recorded. ”
Recently, another immortal trafficking racket was reportedly being operated by a retired Haryana Police inspector was busted in Morni. The raid was conducted by a team of ACP Raj Kumar.
Besides this, Morni area has witnessed heinous crimes, including murders and incidents of road rage. A local priest, Duli Chand, was murdered outside the shrine by a group of youths, who were drinking alcohol in public view in 2014. In November 2017, a man from Pehowa in Kurukshetra was arrested for killing his two nephews and one niece in Morni. Hills. The accused was identified as Jagdeep Malik.
“The Morni gang rape was a dent on the image of Haryana. It had tarnished the image of the state. The area has a huge potential to make its own identity. Apart from the 2018 gang rape, there were countless incidents involving violent crimes, hooliganism, which portrayed this area as a den of crime, ”said a member of Shivalik Development Board.
AS A paraglider of BSF sporting a Tricolor on his back puts his feet on the ground, 12-year-old Mahesh along with other children of Palasara village run towards him, as he lands on the lower slope opposite their village in the Morni block of Panchkula . They cheer and raise slogans of Jai Hind. The paraglider, Inspector Ajay Singh Adhana, from BSF Adventure School, Dehradun, is followed by three of his colleagues, who jump from a faraway Bhuri hill at a height of at least 4,000 ft, and land at Palasara village one by one.
The BSF team is in Morni for conducting the paragliding trial on the request of Shivalik Development Board (SDB), a government body working for development of Shivalik areas in Haryana. The trial is successful.
“It was during the six-month-long lockdown due to COVID-19 that we realized the potential of Morni. Thousands of people visited Morni from all over Haryana, especially from the National Capital Region (NCR) like Gurugaon, as the inter-state travel was banned. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the states with traditional tourist destinations, had closed their doors for the outsiders. Morni was the only option for the people of Haryana. We knew as two states would open up for outsiders at the end of the lockdown, there would be no major footfall in Morni. We wanted to introduce something unique, which can boost the economy of the local area, ”says Mahesh Kumar Singla, vice-chairman of SDB. He is a retired IPS officer.
“We discussed various options and the idea of adventure tourism, especially paragliding, struck to my mind. Bir Billing model was already there. But there were various hurdles. We contacted BSF. The high-ups agreed to dispatch a team from its Dehradun-based Adventure School to Morni. A four-member team conducted a feasibility test along with two forest guards of the entire Morni area. Three to four hills with a height of around 4,000 ft were selected. Three-day-long successful trials were conducted from Bhuri hill to the lower place called Palasara village, ”says Singla.
It was for the first time when a successful paragliding trial was held in Haryana. “The agriculture land, which was selected for the landing platform, has not been cultivated for the past two decades. Various reasons are responsible for it: authorized land mining in the lower areas surrounding Morni Hills triggered land erosion in the upper parts, unavailability of adequate water resources and lack of interest in farming among youth. Unemployment among youth is an issue in this area, ”says Pawan Kumar, sarpanch of Palasara.
Over a dozen stone crushers and screening plants are located on the banks of rivers near Raipurrani at the Morni foothills. Mining is allowed in this area. Sukhbir Rana of Palasara, a block committee member, Morni, says, “There was a time when we cultivated at least three crops every year. Chana (chickpea), arhar dal (split pigeon pea) and til (sesame) were our traditional crops besides the maze. Today, we only grow maze, which is a crop of three to four months. In the rest of the year, there is only grass, dry grass for cattle in this land. We were not aware of the state government’s plans, but I am sure this area has a huge potential in terms of tourism. ”
Palasara has around 99 bighas of agricultural land, which lies unused for almost nine months in a year. Contrary to it, certain parts of Morni, especially upper areas, are productive. Maze, tomatoes, potatoes, peas, ginger, turmeric along with wheat and paddy are the traditional crops of this area.
BSF Inspector Ajay Singh Adhana, chief instructor (paragliding) at BSF Adventure School, Dehradun, says, “Paragliding is not an easy sport.
Not everyone can tie a paraglide, go up to the hill and jump. It needs preparation, training and perfect locations in terms of altitude, wind speed, direction and landing platform. Bir Billing was a small village when paragliding was introduced there. It was merely a cluster of houses. But paragliding and the concept of home stay put that area on the international map. Indeed, we cannot compare Morni with Bir Billing but paragliding in Morni is possible. Indeed, paragliding business is being operated at Billing by private companies, but instructors, guides, employees are all locals. Even several locals are trained paragliders. Without them, the sport is not possible. We will come again to conduct Tandem paragliding in the coming months.
The winds, wind speed and direction of wind in Morni hills were found perfect for this adventure sports at the low level. ” In Solo paragliding, a trained paraglider can fly without any instructor. In tandem paragliding, an untrained paraglider flies with an instructor.
Sanjeev Kumar, a forest guard attached with the BSF team, says, “It took us two days to identify four perfect locations for the jump. We scaled almost a dozen hills on foot for finding a perfect place to take the flight and land. Out of the four, the Bhuri hills situated at an altitude of around 4,000 ft was perfect. It was facing the stair style fields of Palasara village. The trials were successful. “
Morni Hills in Panchkula are spread over 52,000 acres of forest area touching the boundaries of Himachal Pradesh. It has 14 village panchyats locally known as Bhojs around it where around 110 small and big hamlets (dhanis) are situated.
It has two wildlife sanctuaries, one vulture breeding center, one red jungle fowl / pheasant breeding center.
Largely, people depend on cultivation, daily wages and in private jobs in Panchkula, Chandigarh, nearby industrial town of Baddi and Kala Amb in Himachal. A small section of people is also in government jobs. Besides, there are government high schools, a senior secondary school and a government polytechnic. A Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) training center is there too.
A senior IFS officer with Haryana forest and wildlife department says, “Over the years, hundreds of mushrooming hotels, guest houses have come up in Morni. But in a true sense, there is hardly anything constructive in this area to attract visitors. This area has a huge potential but merely scenic beauty is not enough. For the engagement of people, we will have to promote and provide some activities. We have constructed nature trails and are in the process of developing treks, dedicated camping sites for the visitors. This will all benefit the local population. The lockdown was encashed by Morni. But more effort is required. ”
Roshan Lal of Morni says, “Every weekend, hundreds of cyclists and motorcyclists come here. But their arrival does not benefit local people directly in the long term. Activities which engage visitors are required in this area. ”
A Chandigarh resident, Vivek Bhandari, who operates an adventure agency, says, “The sole aim of the government behind these activities should be the benefit of the local population. Nothing can happen without the involvement of local communities. Be it Uttarakhand, Rajasthan or Himachal, these areas were only developed to the international level with the involvement of local people. ”
A second former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo is accusing him of sexual harassment, saying that he asked her questions about her sex life, whether she was monogamous in her relationships and if she had ever had sex with older men.
The aide, Charlotte Bennett, who was an executive assistant and health policy adviser in the Cuomo administration until she left in November, told The New York Times that the governor had harassed her late last spring, during the height of the state’s fight against the coronavirus.
Bennett, 25, said the most unsettling episode occurred June 5, when she was alone with Cuomo in his state Capitol office. In a series of interviews this past week, she said the governor had asked her numerous questions about her personal life, including whether she thought age made a difference in romantic relationships, and had said that he was open to relationships with women in their 20s – comments she interpreted as clear overtures to a sexual relationship.
Cuomo said in a statement to the Times on Saturday that he believed he had been acting as a mentor and had “never made advances towards Ms. Bennett, nor did I ever intend to act in any way that was inappropriate. ” He said he had requested an independent review of the matter and asked that New Yorkers await the findings “before making any judgments.”
Bennett said that during the June encounter, the governor, 63, also complained to her about being lonely during the pandemic, mentioning that he “can’t even hug anyone” before turning the focus to Bennett. She said that Cuomo asked her, “Who did I last hug?”
Bennett said she had tried to dodge the question by responding that she missed hugging her parents. “And he was, like, ‘No, I mean like really hugged somebody?'” She said.
Cuomo never tried to touch her, Bennett said, but the message of the entire episode was unmistakable to her.
“I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Bennett said. “And was wondering how I was going to get out of it and assumed it was the end of my job.”
Bennett said she had disclosed the interaction with Cuomo to his chief of staff, Jill DesRosiers, less than a week later and was transferred to another job, as a health policy adviser, with an office on the opposite side of the Capitol, soon after that . Bennett said she had also given a lengthy statement to a special counsel to the governor, Judith Mogul, toward the end of June.
Bennett said she ultimately decided not to insist on an investigation because she was happy in her new job and “wanted to move on.” No action was taken against the governor.
In his statement, Cuomo called Bennett a “hardworking and valued member” of his staff with “every right to speak out.” He said that Bennett had spoken to him about being a sexual assault survivor – an experience about which she had been open in the past – and that he had tried to be supportive and helpful. “The last thing I would ever have wanted was to make her feel any of the things that are being reported,” the governor said.
The governor did not deny that he asked Bennett personal questions; he said in the statement that he would have no further comment until the review concluded.
Bennett’s account follows another detailed accusation, published Wednesday, by Lindsey Boylan, A former state economic development official who said Cuomo had harassed her on several occasions from 2016 to 2018, at one point giving her an unsolicited kiss on the lips at his Manhattan office.
Cuomo’s office has called Boylan’s accusations untrue, but they have nonetheless prompted calls for investigations into her claims. In addition to the two women’s harassment allegations, the governor, a third-term Democrat, is confronting significant political fallout over his handling of the state’s nursing homes during the pandemic.
After seeing Boylan detail her accusations against Cuomo, Bennett shared Boylan’s account on Twitter, suggesting that people read it if they wanted a true picture of “what it’s like to work for the Cuomo” administration.
The Times contacted Bennett, and she agreed to relate her own account of harassment. She said she felt an obligation to other victims of sexual harassment and wanted to counter the way Cuomo “wields his power.”
Bennett said she had told her parents and friends about the exchange with the governor around the time that it happened, as well as about her growing discomfort with having to work closely with him, and had kept text messages from that period.
The Times reviewed the messages and confirmed their contents with those who received them. Bennett also retained text messages from DesRosiers and Mogul that alluded to their meetings in June but did not mention the subject matter.
“I have no problem with what they did,” Bennett said of DesRosiers and Mogul, describing both women as sympathetic to her concerns. “I have a problem with what the governor did.”
Bennett was hired by the administration in early 2019, working out of the governor’s Manhattan office as a briefer, an entry-level position. She had graduated from Hamilton College in 2017, where she was active in women’s issues and founded a sexual misconduct task force. She said her own experience in surviving a sexual attack had prompted her to “help sexual assault survivors be heard and enforce victims’ rights,” according to a bulletin on the college’s website.
By mid-2019, Bennett had been promoted to senior briefer and executive assistant after an interview with Cuomo. The two became friendly, she said, and they bonded over shared connections with Westchester County: At the time, he was living with Sandra Lee, a celebrity chef, in Mount Kisco; Bennett was living with her parents in a neighboring hamlet. She mentioned to Cuomo that she had played middle-school soccer against one of his daughters, who are also in their mid-20s.
“We got along really well,” she said of the governor. Cuomo, she said, would sometimes ask questions about her dating life that she said seemed inappropriate but not necessarily unmanageable.
“I saw him more as a father figure,” she said. “I wasn’t thinking about it as anything sexual.”
In January 2020, Bennett sent her mother a text. “Had a really long convo with Gov today,” she wrote, outlining a two-hour conversation about numerous topics, including her career goals.
“He had a lot to say and was very emotional and serious but also asked a lot of questions,” she wrote, adding, “He got emotional. Not me. ”
Bennett’s mother, Jessica, confirmed the text, and her feeling, at the time, that it was reassuring that the governor seemed to be taking on the role of a mentor.
Charlotte Bennett said she was asked in late March to begin working in Albany as part of the state’s COVID-19 response effort. Two months later, in mid-May, the governor’s perception of their relationship seemingly began to change, she said.
On May 15, she said she arrived at the Capitol around 7 am to find Cuomo already at work. Bennett was there to drop off some briefing papers, but Cuomo was chatty, asking about her love life and, in a gossipy way, whether she was involved with other members of the governor’s staff. She memorialized the exchange in several texts to another Cuomo staff member that the Times reviewed.
Bennett said she had mentioned a speech she was scheduled to give to Hamilton students about her experience as a survivor of sexual assault. She said she had been taken aback by Cuomo’s seeming fixation on that element of her life experience.
“The way he was repeating, ‘You were raped and abused and attacked and assaulted and betrayed,’ over and over again while looking at me directly in the eyes was something out of a horror movie,” she wrote in a second text to her friend. . “It was like he was testing me.”
In retrospect, Bennett said, she viewed the May 15 meeting “as the turning point in our relationship.”
“Anything before it now I see differently,” she said. “I now understand that as grooming.”
Three weeks later, Bennett said, she was summoned to Cuomo’s second-floor office and was asked to take dictation with another aide.
After the second aide left, Cuomo and Bennett continued their work. When they finished, she said, he asked her to turn off her recorder, and he began a winding conversation that touched on the Black Lives Matter protests and his daily news conferences.
But, Bennett said, the governor also started to ask questions about her personal life, including whether she was romantically involved, whether she was monogamous in her relationships and whether she had ever had sex with older men.
A series of text exchanges with a female friend from that afternoon, June 5, comported with Bennett’s recounting of the story this week. In the texts, she told her friend that she was shaken and upset by the episode and worried about even writing it down.
Bennett said she spoke to Cuomo’s chief of staff, DesRosiers, on June 10, five days after the episode.
She said the meeting, in DesRosiers’ office, had lasted about 10 minutes. Bennett said she had recounted her interaction with Cuomo, and she recalled that DesRosiers had asked a few questions, had been apologetic and asked to speak to her again in two days.
In a text message sent to a friend after the meeting, Bennett said DesRosiers had said, “How can we do this?” asking whether she wanted to stay in the executive branch or move to another part of the state government.
When Bennett’s friend asked what that meant, Bennett explained that an outside job would still be with the administration, but “just not interacting with him.”
She also told her friend, in the same series of texts, that she trusted DesRosiers but was worried about Cuomo’s reaction: “I just said I didn’t want him to find out and get mad.”
Two days later, on June 12, DesRosiers told Bennett she would be transferred to a new position as a health policy adviser, still working in the executive branch, but in a different part of the Capitol. Her new job was announced in a June 17 email to the Department of Health officials. “Welcome Charlotte!” it concluded.
Later that month, Bennett met with Mogul, a special counsel to the governor, and repeated her claims. She said, however, that she soon decided to “let this go and move on.”
In a statement Saturday, Beth Garvey, another special counsel to the governor, said that “Ms. Bennett’s concerns were treated with sensitivity and respect and in accordance with applicable law and policy. ” She characterized the transfer to a health policy position as fulfilling “a long-standing interest” of Bennett’s.
Of Bennett, Garvey said, “She was consulted regarding the resolution and expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the way in which it was handled.” Barbara Jones, a former federal judge in Manhattan, will lead the outside review into the matter, Garvey said.
Bennett left state government last fall, and she now lives and works in a neighboring state. She said that her anger about what had happened had continued to percolate and had led to her departure.
“His presence was suffocating,” she said. “I was thinking that I could recover and have distance, but that is so naive.”
As the fans are eagerly awaiting the second season of ‘The Witcher’, some book loyalists are complaining about Henry Cavill being too good-looking to be playing Geralt!
Highlights —
The Witcher’: An international success
A quick review of the first season of ‘The Witcher’
Is Henry really too good-looking to be playing Geralt?
The books were great and ‘The Witcher’, although not as popular as ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Lord of the Rings’, had a separate fan-base of its own. When ‘The Witcher’ was announced, the novel series’ writer Andrzej Sapkowski wouldn’t have imagined in his wildest dreams that the protagonist of his story, Geralt of Rivia, would ever be played by Henry Cavill! The world knows Henry as the beloved Clark Kent aka Superman from the DC cinematic universe and even though his performance in the fantasy drama ‘The Witcher’ was as good as it gets, there have been some criticisms regarding the casting of his character. That doesn’t take away the credit from the actor though the fact that he’s way too good-looking, is an issue that only the very loyal fans of the books have. Let us try to deduce whether this point is valid or should we just simply ignore it and revel in the marvel that ‘The Witcher’ is, which is all set to make a comeback in 2021.

The Polish-American series ‘The Witcher’ premiered in December 2019 and for weeks after its worldwide release on Netflix, it remained trending on the streaming platform. The series told the story of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who is magically enhanced to become more powerful. He looks like a normal human being but has superhuman powers. His destiny is to find Ciri, a princess. There is another parallel plot of Yennefer, a sorcerer, who was formerly hunchbacked and now she is probably the hottest magician/sorcerer in the show’s entire universe. Her timeline crosses Geralt’s many times. The third key piece of the puzzle is Princess Ciri, carrier of some magical powers and whose destiny is interlinked with Geralt.
The first season essentially follows the odysseys of these three magical characters as they go through battles, deceits, and monster-hunts, separately before crossing paths with each other. The series features some of the coolest VFX sequences, and not only because they are good, but because they seem like the examples of top-tier human imagination.
Talking about the storyline, the non-linear story structure runs through many timelines before it starts making sense. But it doesn’t take away from the intense thrill and suspense that we feel at every step that our main characters take. It only adds to the intrigue about the world and its characters. And when everything finally starts to come together, it feels like an accomplishment. In short, ‘The Witcher’ is a master-class in storytelling.

The cast has performed their characters wonderfully. Anya Chalotra as Yennefer played different shades of the characters like a pro, while Freya Allan brings the required innocence to her character of Ciri. However, the comic relief, Jaskier the Bard, played deliciously well by Joey Batey, steals the moments he is in from rest of the cast-members. As Geralt’s travelling companion, he keeps the human angle live, amidst all the ugliness we are made to sit through in form of morally bankrupt generals and bloodthirsty monsters.
The Wiatcher’s Geralt Never Looked Like This
And now, the man of the hour, Henry Cavill, the biggest name in the star-cast. He has proven himself to be a fantastic actor and he doesn’t disappoint here either. He played a mostly stoic monster hunter who shows no signs of empathy. But is he just a heartless monster, or humanity thrives within him? That constant internal battle he faces is one of the highlights of his performance!
Is Henry really too good-looking to be playing the monster hunter Geralt?
However, there have been fans of the books that believe Henry may be “too good-looking” to play Geralt of Rivia. They refer to the part of the book where it says that Geralt has a “hideous smile”, which, according to them, means that Geralt was actually pretty hideous to look at in general. To answer the fan’s queries, Henry himself had to come forward and in an interview with “Variety”, Henry said that the author was probably referring to the smile being “hideous”, a smile with the intent of scaring someone.
Now, why should we believe Henry unless the author comes forward to testify to that fact? Unless we know that the author Andrzej Sapkowski himself has green-lit Henry to play the lead in his fantasy drama! Now that the second season of ‘The Witcher’ is all set to release in 2021, we can’t even do anything about the casting.
Pity, we will have to make do with a painfully good-looking man to be Geralt of Rivia until the foreseeable future. Alas! Such a serious inconvenience we have to face! *Wink*
Do let us know in the comments whether Henry is a perfect fit for the role or do you resonate with the fans’ concern about Henry’s good looks.
Days after the government framed new rules to hold social media and Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms accountable for content, the Congress on Saturday said the Center is arming itself with “vast powers” and argued it was extremely dangerous for free speech and for creativity unless extreme restraint was exercised.
Arguing that nobody was suggesting that there should be “unregulated, unknown virgin territory forever in any area”, the Congress said that at the same time “there should be no attempt in the guise of non-statutory, delegated legislation, rules and executive orders. , in getting control of such a vast field. “
“The problem is that no act has been passed yet. You have taken almost 3-4 years in even doing a Data Protection Act… .While all that is pending, you have brought such far reaching changes and the Czar, the monarch, the master of the universe is a bureaucrat. So, I would say that it is extremely dangerous for free speech, for creativity, unless extreme restraint is exercised and unfortunately, I do not find any restraint in this government in any sector, ”Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said at an AICC press conference.
In a nutshell, he said “humongous, vast powers have been granted without statute, without parliamentary assent, without parliamentary scrutiny and their operation depends on the wisdom and restraint of bureaucrats who exercise them. Such restraint in many other sectors is conspicuous by its absence as far as this Government is concerned, ”he added.
Singhvi also slammed the Government over the rise in fuel prices.
“The Narendra Modi Government has been the most expensive government for the people. It has taxed them heavily left, right and center. This arrogant government refuses to acknowledge people’s problems or give any relief to them. It only tries to divide, deceive, dupe, distract and delude, the five favorite Ds of ‘hum do, hamare do sarkaar’, ”said Singhvi.
He said it was unimaginable that in Covid times, fuel prices are shooting up like this. He said even the RBI Governor had just a couple of days ago warned that the rise in prices of petrol and diesel would have a cascading effect.
