‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ will feature Wanda and Captain America – and they could be the cause of madness in the multiverse.
Marvel Studios isn’t new to dabbling with the ideas of alternate universes and dimensions. The multiverse was introduced in the Thor films but was explored in depth in the Doctor Strange movies. Now, with the sequel ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ on the charts, it seems Stephen Strange will have his hands full. Fans are increasingly getting the feeling that the sequel will be nothing like the previous movie but even more thrilling and exciting. The idea of other planes of existence such as the dark dimension or the quantum realm may be exploited to bits in the sequel. What new has the sequel got to bring to the table? Let’s find out!
Highlights —
- What does ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ mean?
- Doctor Strange will reportedly fight two Avengers in the sequel.
- Who’s a greater threat – Wanda or Evil Cap?
What does ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ mean?
‘Doctor Strange 2’ is a highly anticipated sequel, but what does its title – ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, mean? The movie director Derrickson has confirmed that the sequel will be MCU’s first horror movie, however, he made no comments on what could be expected of the storyline.
An evil Captain America played by Chris Evans returns in ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel?
That said, we can expect Doctor Strange’s adventures to be shelved next to Stephen King’s ‘IT’ that J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’. And why not, after all, he is a sorcerer. Another question that leaves our brains fumbling is that who will he fight against? Who will be the villain in the sequel? Will he have to fight an evil supernatural creature that human minds can barely comprehend?
Doctor Strange will reportedly fight two Avengers in the sequel
According to some sources, Doctor Strange may come to blows with two Avengers in ‘Doctor Strange 2’. Recently, the Entertainment Insider Daniel Richtman shared that Chris Evans may return as Captain America. But here’s the twist – he will be an alternate version of Cap from another universe who’s loyal to HYDRA. On the other hand, Elizabeth Olsen starring as Scarlet Witch in the sequel might point towards another skirmish.
Probably, we can assume that the evil Captain America may only have a cameo in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ while the conflict between Wanda and Strange may be a major component of the sequel. What do you think? Who will be a greater threat to Dr. Strange?
Who’s a greater threat – Wanda or Evil Cap?
As is confirmed by the sources, Strange will come to blows with both Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and the HYDRA Captain in his sequel. That leaves us wondering who’d be a greater threat to the mystical Strange?
There’s clearly a strong comic book precedent for Wanda to become the villain in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. The MCU’s version of Wanda has been very different from the comic character, and hence her powers have been subtly different.
However, Marvel Studios may retcon Wanda as a sorceress who won’t be a friend to Dr. Strange. Nothing is confirmed though, as of now.
Nonetheless, a feud between evil Captain America and Strange could also be one of the major highlights of the sequel. Just imagine Strange’s mystical abilities versus the strength and power of a corrupt Captain America! Thrilling, isn’t it?
What do you expect the sequel ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ to be like? Are you excited for the movie to hit the theatres? Let us know in the comments.
