#Kolkata: The state government is concerned about unbridled medical bills in private hospitals-nursing homes on health card in the district. A patient cannot be referred to a private hospital from the government hospital of the district for various reasons. Based on that formula, the bill is being collected at a high rate on the health partner card. Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi immediately directed the District Magistrates to take action under the Clinical Establishment Act against showing such expenses of the concerned private hospitals and nursing homes. He also asked the health secretary to activate district CMOHs against such incidents. According to Nabanna sources, in several districts like Maldah, Murshidabad, private hospitals are being overbilled for minor orthopedic surgeries on the Swasthya Sathi card. In order to meet this, the government is facing problems in the financial crisis. The chief secretary said in the meeting that this situation is largely responsible for doctors in government hospitals to operate in private hospitals.
But not only the health partner, the 75th year of independence is going to be completed. Before that, many schools in the remote villages of the state do not have drinking water. The report of Public Health Technical Department says that the number of schools in remote rural areas without drinking water is 25 thousand. Meanwhile, it has been possible to provide piped clean drinking water to 11,000 schools under the Jalaswapan project. On this day, the Chief Secretary made it clear to the Public Health Technical Department that this water should be provided in all schools by December. He ordered the District Magistrates to provide all possible assistance in this regard.
State Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi gave this order in a review meeting on ongoing projects and issues of ten important departments before the reshuffle of the state cabinet on Tuesday. District Magistrates were asked to attend the meeting virtually. These departments are Irrigation, Public Health and Technology, Information and Culture, Tourism, Small, Medium and Cottage Industries, Panchayat, Health, Lands and Revenue, Agriculture, Works Department. Various questions have been raised about the central project ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’. The main objective of this project is to provide piped clean drinking water to every rural house. The state’s success in the scheme has been questioned as the report has systematic flaws in many cases. So call village sabhas in villages which are being converted into sajal villages and put it on central project website.

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary made it clear to the District Magistrate and Small, Medium and Small Industries Secretary that at least one set of uniforms should be delivered to every government school in August. No more will be heard. Seven years of the academic year have passed. Ask the self-help groups that have been provided with clothes to make uniforms now. He told the Information and Culture Secretary and District Magistrates to restore the statues of freedom fighters in the district before Independence Day. There is not much time. They will be decorated by the government with flowers on Independence Day. At present there are about three thousand such idols in the state.
He reminded the District Magistrates of the Chief Minister’s strict stand against bogus land deeds and brokers in the Land Revenue Department in this meeting. He told the District Magistrates that committees have been formed at the block and sub-divisional levels, now form the committee at the district level as well. So that as soon as the complaint is received, the necessary action can be taken by investigating it quickly. Why common people will be harassed by going to work related to land documents?
