“It baffles me why men often get a pass. Many women, including me, are adored, sought, and told convincing lies, while men only lie. They realise this is wrong and manipulative. Easy!” — Renée Ash — one of the foremost authorities in the field of ‘Mental Health’
After she recently made headlines on PAGESIX.COM regarding her deceptive relationship with Addison Rae‘s father, Monty Lopez, we spoke with Renée Ash to learn more about the significance of mental health awareness and the harmful effects of cancel culture. The entire time that Lopez and Ash were dating, Lopez lied to Ash about his marital status, claiming that he was split from his wife but loved and desired to be with Ash.
As the news spread, Renée Ash was subjected to horrific cyberbullying, which included death threats, insults from trolls, and other forms of harassment.
She stated this without any pretence:
Too frequently, the males in these situations are never held accountable for their behaviour, and the women in these situations are the ones who are the ones who are criticised, humiliated, and mocked.
As she said, “it is all too usual for the women to take the brunt of the blame and derision” (rather than holding men accountable for their actions).
Up until now… Renée is ready to change all that...
“Death threats and anonymous online comments from “trolls” were among the online hostility that Renée endured when the news broke. Now that she’s had time to process the situation, she’s ready to convert a negative into a positive and bring awareness to the power that people’s words have and the harm that they can inflict.“
Why mental health is so important, check out this interview with Renée Ash, a prominent mental health advocate, that was conducted exclusively by DKODING:

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Absolutely! I am freshly 26 years old, born and raised in LA. I am a former fashion girl (career-wise, still a fashion girl on the daily). I went through a tumultuous public breakup that flipped my world upside down. It launched me into delving into my own mental health that I had been bandaging for years rather than doing the hard work to get to the source.
However, it ended up being a blessing in disguise. I am in a place where I am healing myself and have the space and desire to do the same for others.

Why do you want to use your platform to shed light on mental awareness?
I firsthand know what it’s like to deal with mental health issues. I experience severe anxiety and panic disorder. When I have non-stop repetitive, intrusive thoughts or a panic attack that feels like I’m dying, nobody can make me feel better because nobody knows what it feels like. It’s extremely scary, sometimes debilitating and I feel so alone. I want to connect with the people who might feel alone in their struggles. I strive to be the voice for people with similar experiences to mine that may not have the audience or courage to speak up about this topic.

Why do you want to share your experience with us today?
I want to make the world a place where people aren’t afraid to be authentically themselves, where having access to help isn’t such a difficult process. Imagine how amazing life would be if everyone’s emotional and mental needs could be met.
4/10
How do you plan on using your following for this?
My main goal is to connect with people and to be there for them by sharing my raw story. Along with that, I share the tools and stories I know or may come across as a form of encouragement.

How has your recent spotlight affected your mental health?
I am exhausted from how much processing and healing I’ve been doing. There have been days when I wasn’t sure how I’m supposed to go through life with all these strong emotions.
I can’t lie, it has taken a toll. It’s very unsettling to receive hate comments and death threats, especially when the public is latching onto a false narrative. I immediately started doing “the work”, meaning therapy, subconscious training, brainwave harmonization, and most importantly sitting with my feelings. There have been days when I wasn’t sure how I’m supposed to go through life with all these strong emotions. I am exhausted from how much processing and healing I’ve been doing. I’m hitting the home stretch and I can honestly say, I’ve never felt so whole and sure of myself.

It must be difficult dealing with a breakup in the first place, but even more difficult now that it’s in the public eye, what are some of the ways you’ve been coping with this?
Like I said before, I really dove into taking care of my mental health. I’m also thankful to my friends and family who allow me to speak about it as often as I need. Expressing your thoughts and feelings are a huge part of moving past something traumatic, whether you have someone you trust, a therapist, or even a journal. It is essential to get your thoughts out of your mind and diminish their power. I’ve also grown a supportive following with beautiful people who take the time to reach out with positive and supportive affirmations. I like showing the world all aspects of what it is to be human and all the intricacies of daily life. I am grateful that I have a following that celebrates happy moments with me and supports the difficult ones.

How do you plan to move on from this situation?
I’m taking it one day at a time. I’m finally feeling like a brand new, super-strong version of myself and I’m ready to take over the world! I’m getting involved in a lot of philanthropy and moving my career into entertainment; if there were a camera following me, it would be game over. My life is a constant hot mess and extremely entertaining for everyone around me.

What piece of advice would you give to young women struggling with online bullying?
Never stay silent. Even if you’re scared, find someone you trust to talk to. I can’t express enough how important it is to not keep your thoughts and emotions bottled up. On top of that, if someone is going out of their way to be rude to you, they must be extremely unhappy in their own lives. Try to hold compassion for them in your heart, and hey, you must be doing something right if they lash out that bad.

Most of the time it is always the women that get ridiculed online and never the men in certain situations, how does this make you feel?
It baffles me why men often get a pass. Many women, including me, are adored, sought, and told convincing lies, while men only lie. They realise this is wrong and manipulative. Easy!
Extremely frustrated! In my case, a lot of people did not take the time to read my statements and look at the hundreds of screenshots I provided as proof. I’m lucky enough that I have a platform to share this information, but it still feels defeating. When more of the truth came to light, I received a lot of apologies for the rude messages sent based on false information or jumping to conclusions. I don’t know why men seem to get this pass in most cases, it blows my mind. Many women, including myself, are adored, pursued, admired, and told believable lies, while the men only provide falsities. They know, deep down, that what they’re doing is wrong and it’s manipulative. It’s very simple.
