Not just Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 or Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man 3, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 may happen too.
Till now we thought Andrew Garfield would get his The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and Tobey Maguire might reprise the screen role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but this is not it. Sam Raimi has recently hinted toward Maguire returning as Peter Parker and continuing his Spider-Man franchise.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home brought Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire back in the spider suit after a long time. But, now once they have worn that Spidey Suit, they are no longer in the mood of giving it up.
No Way Home continues to make headlines
Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened the multiverse in a way nobody of us could have ever expected. The movie not only brought the three generations of Spider-Man back but also revived their respective trilogies.
No Way Home was such a big hit and skyrocketed at the box office that now fans want to see all the three Peter Parker’s come up with their standalone again. Tom Holland is expected to continue his friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man with another trilogy.
Similarly, Andrew Garfield is speculated to revive his franchise of Amazing Spider-Man. Although, he has denied it firmly Garfield is the last person MCU fanatics would trust, after how confidently he lied about him not being in No Way Home.
Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man will return with Sam Raimi
The third and the oldest Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire is also rumoured to be back on the big screen and give a fourth edition to his Spider-Man franchise. Before that happens he is also expected to make a cameo in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
There is a possibility that Maguire might return in Doctor Strange 2 and then continue with his Spider-Man franchise. This also seems likely as the Multiverse of Madness is being directed by Sam Raimi, who earlier directed Tobey’s Spider-Man franchise.
This could have just been speculation if Sam Raimi wouldn’t have made an official statement on Tobey coming back as Spider-Man. But, now when there’s an official statement, it signals towards the oldest Spider-Man reprising the screen in his Spider costume.
Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 will happen after Doctor Strange 2
Talking about Maguire’s Spider-Man, Raimi recently told an entertainment portal that post Doctor Strange 2 he has realised anything is possible. Along with that he also said that he has no story as of now but the idea of working with Tobey Maguire again is beautiful.
“I’ve come to realize after making ‘Doctor Strange’ that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, and team-ups. I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”

With no official statements as of now neither from Marvel nor Tobey Maguire, all we can do is hope that Maguire appears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Universe that releases on 6th May 2022.
