Fans find a new way to save Hopper from Russians
For viewers, explaining the ‘Stranger Things’ genre is a stressful task. The show is part sci-fi and part horror. This strange combination of science and horror makes the show a complex puzzle. This genre-bending, coming-of-age hit on Netflix, since the debut year 2016, is always a subject of numerous fan theories. Now that the trailer of season 4 has teased Hopper stranded in Russia, with no one to help him escape, fans have a suggestion for him.
It is still unclear how Hopper reached Russia when he died in season 3. Duffer Bros need to explain in the upcoming ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 why Hopper faked his death and what is he doing in Russia. Since the season 4 release date is still a mystery, fans of the show have found a satisfying and quick resolution to this story strand.
If we observe closely, Hopper’s predicament isn’t the first time ‘Stranger Things’ has explored this situation. If we recall season 2 of the Netflix hit, Will Byers, the meek missing kid, returned from his lengthy excursion to the Upside Down. He was plagued by apocalyptic visions of doom that consumed his hometown of Hawkins. By that season’s finale, viewers learned that the poor kid was possessed by Mind Flayer, an extra-dimensional monster. In season 3, the new baddie, Stephen King-indebted bully Billy was possessed by the Mind Flayer. We all now know that Mind Flayer can gain access to the minds of the people it possesses through the Upside Down. So, it would make perfect sense for the ‘Stranger Things’ plotline, to return Hopper to Hawkins from Russia via the Upside Down.
Upside Down can help Hopper escape Siberia
For Hopper, leaving Siberia surrounded by Russians won’t be an easy task. Coming back to Hawkins via Russia by conventional means will mean a lot of intercontinental adventuring. ‘Stranger Things’ first 3 seasons haven’t prepared the viewers for conventional travels, and the small-town mystery atmosphere in the show makes us believe Hopper will take the unconventional route.
Hopper to be possessed by the Mind Flayer
Believe it or not, like Billy in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3, and Eleven, and Will before him, Hopper’s journey through Upside Down would leave him haunted by the denizens populating the Upside Down, and he might also behave in a weird manner, thanks to the Mind Flayer. This weird route would make his lonely excursion to the depths of Siberia more engaging and dramatic than a conventional wilderness survival story. The Russians have been boring villains as compared to the grand scheme of the ‘Stranger Things’ universe, so the Mind Flayer could make the dead-end story of Hopper’s exile into a highlight of season 4.
