Why is Meryl Streep against ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13?
TBBT has made history as the longest-running sitcom on the CBS network. After twelve seasons, Parsons decided to quit the show due to ‘creative saturation’. He wanted to explore his talents and wanted a taste of Hollywood which he received in the form of a Netflix series ‘Hollywood’.
Contrary to his role as a science nerd in TBBT, he played the role of a sexual predator and talent agent Henry Wilson in the Netflix series ‘Hollywood’, and earned an Emmy-nomination for this role. Also, much to everybody’s surprise, Meryl Streep loved him as a villain.
Whatever little hopes for a ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13 were left, all were crushed when Ryan Murphy decided to show the footage of Parsons’ choreography of the entire drag dance scene to Meryl Streep, and she loved it. And when Meryl finds something commendable, it is the highest form of compliment you can get.
It’s not that Meryl is against the ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13 petition, it’s just that she doesn’t want an exceptional talent like Jim Parsons to be a frog in the well. At this moment, it won’t be wrong to say that Parsons is pretty chuffed and his decision to leave TBBT is also justifiable.
Why did the TBBT end?
It’s not what you think! ‘The Big Bang Theory’ ending has nothing to do with Meryl Streep. Actually, when Jim Parsons who played Sheldon Cooper informed the creators of the show that he could no longer play the part than he had, the decision to end the show was made. Because without the central character, it wouldn’t have been wise to extend the series.
Apart from this, there was no other reason to cut the cord on the show that was enjoyed by millions of people over the years with a never faltering rate. In fact, the cast left with a promise to come back together for a Season 13 revival as long as the audience will be there to welcome them back yet ‘WHEN’ is unknown.
CBS to renew ‘The Big Bang Theory’ for Season 13?
Will TBBT be rebooted? Is a new season on the cards? Well, there have been ‘The Big Bang Theory’ renewal talks underway, but all vague. A year ago, at the TCA summer press tour, CBS Entertainment head Kelly Kahl said: “We are in preliminary discussions to renew the show with Warner Bros.” In response to which Bill Prady, the series co-creator, tweeted “Huh” and “fascinating”!
At the moment, we don’t think ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 13 petition is going anywhere. Meanwhile, Meryl Streep is quite impressed and happy with the choices Jim Parsons is making. And so, a new season on the cards is yet not to be expected any time sooner.
What do you think? Do you miss TBBT? Do you want the series to reboot for a new season? Tell us in the comments.
