Showrunners beat the pandemic fear and resume shoot of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 4
Coronavirus pandemic resulted in a massive shut down of all projects within the entertainment industry back in March. Production for ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 4 is yet to get underway due to the same reason. But the good news is that the series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino announced the resumption of shoot for season 4 during a virtual panel in October, via “TVLine”. They plan to start shooting for the next season starting Thursday, January 7.
Amy Sherman-Palladino told “TVLine”,
“We’re breaking our stories, we’re writing. And then in December we’re dragging the actors in and we’re going to table read the scripts. And then, come January 7, it’s, ‘On your mark, get set, go’”.
The lead actress Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Midge in the series, teased on her own Instagram page back in September with a picture which showed the actress getting fitted for a new and fabulous Midge Maisel ensemble.
The post shared by Rachel Brosnahan (@rachelbrosnahan) hinted the costume fittings being done for season 4 of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’.
“Mask game strong. Hat game stronger”, Brosnahan captioned the image with the statement, “We’re slowly and safely getting back to it but first costume fitting is in the books”.
This temporary delay in the shoot of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 4 isn’t the only way coronavirus could end up impacting the show’s future. The pandemic might result in the ultimate cancellation of the series after season 4. Amy Sherman-Palladino admitted, during the same panel that she and her husband/co-writer Daniel Palladino have already started discussing if ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ should end after season 4 due to the ongoing pandemic.
Amy told “TVLine”,
“We’re actually trying to figure that out now because things are different now”.
And whether the show will continue after season 4 will depend on the success of season 4.
When will happen in ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 4?
Midge’s career in comedy was in serious jeopardy when we saw her at the end of season 3. Shy Baldwin’s manager Reggie (played by Sterling K. Brown) fired Midge just before they were about to start the second half of their stand-up comedy tour. She was fired because her jokes were too close to outing Shy Baldwin (Leroy McClain) to the public. Midge has received a huge setback in season 3, both professionally and financially. This will surely be the major focal point of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 4.
If you are missing Brosnahan flexing her acting chops, you can catch her in Amazon’s new crime drama ‘I’m Your Woman’, which is on the streaming platform now. Though the plot is entirely different from the usual Midge Maisel that we were expecting to get at the end of this year, it’s definitely the next best thing.
